I have to agree, i would let them veg out for another 10-14 days and do and tucking or lst that you can to open up the lower canopy. As for led this is very new to me and something I will be looking into with great interest. The 2 lights you have ordered look great, can I ask with led do you have to lower and raise the lights or are they fixed to the top of your grow area?, its just I have seen some growers with the led stationary with others raising as needed?

All the best

" do you have to lower and raise the lights" is exactly the type of insight I need, I don't know all I personally have evr used is T5, HPS, and Sun. From research it seems as though through veg stage one has light high 18-30 (depending on specific LED) then during flower light can be brought down closer, some have even claimed as low as 10 inches, however the bleaching thing I here so much about has me nervous. What I find intriguing though is they claim that with LED the plant uses much more broader range of the spectrum available to plant. On a side note here's the redo or last bean rather of the WhiteCheese I seemed to have made it over whatever hurdle killed my other 2 ;-)

Update noonish 3/2

Ok So as you can tell from pics GSC she's still coming along, other than waiting on LEDS, not much to report but here's couple updated pics. And I happily report DinaFem is still in the grow, I seem to have managed to overcome what ever snafu cost me the original 2, as seen in pic she's going to be roughly 2 weeks behind the GSC however I am hopeful she will not disappoint. As always I love you all, and wish nothing but best of growers love to each of you.View media item 6164View media item 6165View media item 6166

with any light, start high, then lower as needed. the lowest I've run LED grow lights is about 14" and even then, had some slight light burn. Different strains have different tolerance. Also the beam angle of the lenses makes a difference also. and from recent tests I've seen, the specs of lenses are to be taken with a grain of salt, a 90 degree lens might have a 110 degree angle or an 80 degree........... Best to gradually lower the light and watch your plants closely!

Many thanks, what about physical angle/placement of the lights have a total of 4 feet of width should both lights be in the middle, and I've also noticed some people angle them, is that for like criss crossing the spectrums or something?

Hello,

LED growing is very new to me but there are lots of very knowledgeable members on AFN and what LED are you using as there probably is a rep on site to help with these questions. As said I would start high and drop until you feel comfortable :toke:

Please keep us posted on progress as very interested :toke:

Keep up the great work!

All the best

The lights will be here tommorrow (3/4) at that time Im do an unboxing video so I anticipate doing an upsate with pics then. Unless I learn otherwise plan so far is to go ahead and set light at 20 inches from top of highest plant at moment which is GSC, this will put leds somewhere around 26 inches above the WhiteCheese who is coming along nicely ;-) Also I did manage to do some lst to the GSC hopefully opened her up some. Since leds are new to me plans for the white cheese are going to be K.I.S.S all natural no nutes other than fortified grow medium, and no training of any kind. I want to give the DinaFem her chance to as nature intended, have seen good things from Dinafem and I feel that since she's smallest at the moment she'll be good for the learning curve with the new lights.

HUGE ROOM UPDATE Night 3/4

Ok so tonight the 2 new 300 watt 145 actual draw panels arrived. So far so good, my only concerns are the following. The mount points are not really good, I mean I was able to use the cheap flimsy freely supplied hangers easy enough but I like my lights in more of a fixed position and currently without modding don't see a way to do so. I have absolutely no idea about OPTIMAL distance from top of canopy with regards to light height placement, also to be factored in I have 2 other gals which are currently about half the height of the GSC *see pics That being said I placed one opanel at 18 inches above canopy, the other at 20. Now area is total of 5 feet in width, 1st I found true center then placed each light one inch from center point. Some help/suggestions would be appreciated. Now onto the girls You'll notice in this update the DinaFem WhiteCheese survivor must say she's looking better everyday. The GSC man talk about a thick bunched up fat ass gal (lol) she's coming along. And lastly you'll notice the smaller of the 3 is the new edition the EMc2 Critical plant. As always growers love to all.View media item 6256View media item 6258View media item 6259View media item 6257View media item 6253View media item 6254View media item 6255View media item 6256View media item 6262View media item 6261View media item 6260
