I've been wondering about this. I've got two under 24/7 and they seem fine. seems right and normal that they should rest but I need the heat to make temps. so far so good so no worries, don't fix it if it aint broke.

I've been trying 24/0, 23/1, 22/2, 21/3 and 20/4. As far as I can tell it makes bugger all difference except save me some electric so 20/4 it is for now.

Cutting down on the electric is a big plus too. I've got 2 autos going. A beautiful Blue Kush the doing exactly as promised and a Berry Ryder that just keeps getting beat up. Ive managed to do it all on one breaker including fan, 300-350 watts total Id guess.

IF you are running your lights just to keep the temps from crashing in a cab. there are much cheaper alternatives.

In a 60h x 30w x 48l cabinet I have used a submersible 50w aquarium heater kept in a 1 gallon glass jar of water to keep my temps plenty warm.

you can also run 10/2 + 10/2 in veg and flower for autos
or 6/1 +6/1 +6/1 + 6/1 in flower for autos.
This will give you the light hours you are looking for without the heat loss of 4 continuous hours of dark.

I have used these schedules with autos without any obvious problems, however I prefer 24/0 as it suits my lifestyle and habits and I am reasonably pleased with my results.

Nice GB! My room is same size.
I'm running 24/7 because of temps at lights out. Never heard of this.
Totally going to try this.
Thanks

I just started my first indoor grow (600hps, 8 strains, soil) and after months of learning I decided that I will run my 24/0 for first 20 days or so and then switch to 20/4 until the end.

Jah bless!

Off topic but anyone have suggestions for a decent size but not to large size of pot to transplant into? my six great white sharks are at 1 week 1 day and roots are showing at bottom of pot they are in now...I have 5 gallon pots but seems at the spacing they have in the 5 gallons there isn't enough light hitting all six with my single 400 watt MH . So does anyone have some advice for another size to transplant into? Or another method that has worked best in the past for yah?

Thanks y'all!

Hi saniego :) I have a pair of GWS in veg right now, in 1 gal root pouches, feeding 3x day in coco. They are thriving! If you want to keep them compact-like I do-FIM, or top them, and they'll bush out but stay shorter. I am impressed with the structure of them! Every side branch is in a race for the light :) I reckon a 2 gallon, in soil would be adequate unless you're trying for some monsters.
That's my GWS story... lolol

Thanks maximums!!! :) I am looking for 6 monsters, but from who I spoke to, they said since these are autos they won't get very big. So I figured I wasted my money on 6 five gallon pots, is that too big? Will the roots make use of the 5 gallon space? should I not transplant yet? The roots are showing through the bottom of the root pouches I have them in...I just font want to wait to long! Any suggestions maximums? Basically I have 6 five gallon pots with holes in the bottom for drainage ready to take the 6 great whites any day now. I'm using 50% coco & 50% perlite mix. If the roots are out th bottom of the pouches is it time? My gals are about 2 inches tall with two sets of small leaves about 3 or 4 cm across. any help would be awesome! Thanks!

Oh and Dyah think all six will get enough light from my 400 watt MH? Even with the reflector it just feels like the gallon pots are spacing the hears of the plants too far apart....should I post pick this afternoon? Just don't want to cause stretching...sorry for so many questions this is my first time
