well i guess they need at least 4hours dark time
im a chemist so i know how photosynthesis works...havue u guys ever heard about the calvin-cycle
its the dark reaction of photosynthesis which takes place when its dark.
from my point of view its essential for all plants!
20/4 should do it...im running 18/6 atm

thats humbug plants do not need a drakcycle to grow. Only vertical growth is faster in the Dark. My Mentor Sannie which is a well Known Dutch Breeder explained it like a Construction Site. If Lights are on everybody is working if Lights are out only the Staff at the Warehouse is working.....simple said(explaning Text is a lil bit longer). So even Photoperiod Plants need 24 hrs of Strong Lightning the first 4-6 weeks of Veg.

Same goes for Automatics. I have my Autos under 24/0 from Seed to Chop and i never had better Results in Budding and Resin Production. Also growth is really Fast.

No one said it's needed some are just noticing growth patterns and seeing that some dark time help's.....Your opinion is welcome, but that's all it is.......

24/0 uses more electricity than 18/6, but I've never noticed any faster growth or larger yields with 24/0. Only time I'd use 24/0 is if I didn't have a timer and I was away from home.

Bulbs can blow at any time....but the on/off cycles heat and cool the bulb which causes mechanical stress on the components...eventually they break...i would say never off and they'll last a lot longer

keeping 24/7 for a month prevents excessive stretch until early flowering

but i voted for 20/4 ..

Don't know if any more growth but during winter I keep them on 24/0 though as a vote I would say 20/4

Just finished a Sugar Mango Ryder in 52 days under 24/0. Fat and fabulous cola bud. Can't wait to try it.
