Years ago ( 1980's) when growing in the ground we would take Choreboy (TM) copper pads, stretch them out and make ring around the base of the plant, bamboo skewer them down and had no problems with snails or slugs.

Me too!

They are.

I planted them all out around midday.
A slug or something had gooped over them but not eaten anything!
The three pairs each went into a prepared hole in the ground with a bit of organic chicken poo fert and some aged manure.
The three singles went into two 5 liter pots (two in one, one in the other) with the aged manure.

Rainy night tonight, so the slug and snail issue comes up again.
That is why I'll be planting a lot of plants --
nature can take a few and I'll get the rest.
A can with a little bit of beer at the bottom of plant slugs get in but Can't get out it works :drunks:

Day 63 for Gorilla Glue and Crystal Meth. Hope they dont take too much longer now the temperatures are staying above 20 in the loft!

Yes. They need rain. Then you don't have to water them.
Don't worry about it.
Ganja's been growing in nature with rain and sun for many thousands of years.
It's only a problem in the UK when it stays wet for longer periods without sunshine and the temps get low.
When full buds hold the water and the temps drop below maybe 20C then bud rot will be an issue.
Non-mature buds just don't hold the water.

I've grown outdoors in the tropics, with absolutely massive rain falls.
And pulled out mature plants in full flower for harvest.

My biggest concerns having an auto in your garden would be:
the smell -- will your neighbours notice it?
watering -- if it doesn't rain for extended periods while you're away.
Thank you so much Shiva - this is reassuring!
Re water, I have an irrigation line for my plants/hedges. Re the smell - I wonder! My garden is 25m wide, backing onto the green, so only side neighbors, and nearest is about 7-8 meters away behind the hedge and fence. As this is my first year, I have no idea how strong the smell gets, and whether there are less smelly genetics for that purpose. Is it as bad as someone smoking a joint at all times? I can definitely tell my neighbors that I smoke cannabis for medical reasons, as they know that I have PTST and struggle with sleep. But if the smell if overwhelming and exotic, It won't work. Behind our wire fence, so about 10m away, people stroll every eve and morning and they will surely notice.

I use lavender and chocolate mint plants and lemon something growing nearby and this I’m not sure as packet is ripped it’s night scented and you can’t smell weed near this.

This is great! I've used Helichrysum (curry plant) as well as Santolina (cotton lavender)
That's for the tips on those cover plants
