I think that the pots got some fungus gnats or something.
Had one seed eaten out by tiny white larvae.
I think the colder weather plus damp soil for sprouting has encouraged them.

Getting the mesh protection around the window sill sorted out.
But still only 4 seeds have sprouted, one has the tiniest true leaves.

So hoping that the second round of soaked beans will sprout soon.
Otherwise...

In the meantime, I found the perfect site for planting out!
By the river side, I found another area that locals use for urban gardening.
This area has paths cut through the reeds by the river.
And then branching off to individual gardens, with little make shift doors and stuff.

One of these garden sites is very large, maybe ... 20m x 20m.
And part of that is cultivated, but part not really used.
And then there are another couple of gardens like this.

I figure I can probably drop them around the edges of gardens like this.
The reeds around the gardens protect from winds and stuff.
The soil is really not too bad at all, and they would be open to full day sunlight.

Just have to get some little healthy seedlings sprouting...

Mix 3% hydrogen peroxide in water about a fourth of volume the fungus Nat larvae can't stand it .

If your able to get kimchi soak you
Seeds in the juice I'm able to germinate smashed old seeds by doing this the juice is full of lactic acid which is a building block to healthy plants .

Thanks for this pointer! :D
Have a little bottle of 3% H2O2. Will try.
Afraid I've now just wasted most of those seeds... damn...
Not sure if worth doing the last 3 Sweet Seeds auto seeds or not.
Haven't got my game together this time around.

Had another one pop up yesterday.

Pot [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] = 0 seedlings
Pot [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] = 3 seedlings (two short, one tall)
Pot [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] = 2 seedlings (one short, one tall)
Pot [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG] = 0 seedlings
Pot [HASHTAG]#5[/HASHTAG] = 0 seedlings

Not very well distributed, which is a problem for plant out.
One of each in pots [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] and [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG] are very tall, prob the Safaris.
Hope they're not too tall and fall over... should be ok.
The other three are short, I'm guessing the autos.

The sun is out today, and they're back on the sunny window sill.
The mesh protection is mostly up, just a bit at the top uncovered.
Will try this for now.

They're still in that small seedling stage, most activity is below the ground at the roots.
In another week or two, they should start growing upwards...

Ive ran seedlings many times even with no fan circulation and i havent had a seedling fall over in years. I use something I call flex training. When the seedling is tiny, lightly grasp the main stalk between your thumb and forefinger. Gently force it to bend over your forefinger using your thumb to control the flex of the main stalk. Do that twice a day(alternating direction so the main stalk is bent in one direction, and then the opposite direction the second time in a day you do it), for a few days and they will be far more rigid..

Good idea. I usually gently move the stems around a lot when they're seedlings, but never this specific.
One is leaning but still fine and healthy, true leaves growing nicely.

In my final efforts to get some plants going, decided to drop the last 3 autos, plus another 5 Safari India and 5 Safari Sati-Hybrid.

Last two days temps up at high 20s to 30, very sunny. Good for them.
Temps about to drop to low 20s, which is not bad, and less rain so less humidity.

After 24+ hrs soak, put them into a paper towel between two plates.

My usual soak and plant works okay. This time, not good at all.
So thought that I'd wait longer, until they have definitely sprouted before into the soil.

Here's hoping.

Temps around 20-22 still, and cloudy.
