My 2 autos about 3 weeks+ and some veging photos just put outdoors for 12/12.
How are your babies coming along.

Nice LST work!!

My babies are tiny. A couple putting out their second set of leaves, still 1-pointers.
Cool, cloudy weather most of the time.
Though, little seedlings often spend a while getting their roots in place.
They are okay, not super healthy, but not diseased or bug ridden either.

Should get a photo or two out for you all.

As long as you are right on the ball keeping the paper towel damp between the plates, it will work just fine! That technique served me well for dozens of grows!!

Yeah, that's not a problem.
I've added a couple of drops once a day, but they barely need it.
Could get away with once every two days probably.

They are in a dark cupboard, not cold, but prob not the ideal warmth either.

Hoping that the DD will sprout, and some more of the Safaris.

Thank you. Just trying to get better I can already see the difference that it makes
That's true they sometimes just take their sweet time lol

:bighug:Miss S',... how's it going luv? -- aside from the unaccountable seed/seedling difficulties at least! I hate rough starts,.....Some are acting kinda like old seeds,...nothing wrong with the method, how cool is it in your germ' place?.... So, after the soak, do they sink? In that first day, I may poke at them once after 12hours or so to see if they sink, and reorient them if they float,... into p-t's then... how much radical length do you let grow before planting? ... I certainly am alarmed by the larvae showing up so fast, wonder if the soil is contaminated,...:cuss:--- are mosquito dunks/granules available down your way?

Hey there Master W!
It's going pretty good, all things considering.

Rough is an understatement.
Never had a worse start.
But never tried outdoors in winter either...

Even my college dorm rooms grows under my desk lamp went better than this... hahahahhahaaa!!!!!!

Most of them floated in the soak, and even after a day or two still floated.
Whereas usually some sink, some float, but all sink after maybe 12 hrs.
I wonder if the Safari seeds weren't super mature yet.
They were pollinated at about day ... 15-20 of flowering.
But harvested at about day 56 to 63 IIRC.
So, no extra maturation time, they just came down with the rest of the (fairly early) bud.

This time, using the soak + paper towel, I let the Cream Mandarine and Jack 47 and the one Safari Indica
all get a good 10mm = about 0.5" of tail sprout on them before in the dirt.
It's worked much better, so I'm glad for the change of tactics.

As for the larvae.... maybe contaminated... but.... they are outdoors, in the dirty city, fairly wet.
So... my guess is that they just jumped in from some neighbor's window box.

As of yesterday, we have:
Pot [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG]: one seedling up (should be Cream Mandarine)
Pot [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]: three seedlings up (should be a Dark Devil, maybe two, and a Safari Indica)
Pot [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG]: three seedlings up (should be a Jack 47, a Safari Indica, and who knows...??)
Pot [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG]: two seedlings up (damned if I can recall, maybe it's the other Jack 47 and a Safari Indica)
Pot [HASHTAG]#5[/HASHTAG]: nothing going on here folks

Total of 9 seedlings up, in four pots.
Okay, prob what I was hoping for with just the first round of auto and photo seeds.
Wasted lots in the process, but at least we have the start of some kind of crazy winter going on here now.

More news later when I get back home....

Lots of love and hugs,
MJS

Its gonna take you a year or two to sort out the seasons and weather and critters and such at your new home, I guess this is to be expected. Keep at it, adversity turns iron into steel.

Yes. It's all a learning process.
It also means only the strongest plant genetics survive.
Update below!!

Day whatever you like ... not counting days in this grow, haha.

After @Waira 's question above and my answer, was out of town for about 48 hours.
Came back to this Mandala Safari Indica sprout, radical is a good 2"+ long, with fine hairs.

None of the other seeds had even sprouted. It's a week now, I think.
They hadn't dried out at all. Like I say, it's very humid here.
Changed the paper towels, and a drop of H2O2 each as well, and back under.
Give them a few more days at least to see what will happen.

The Safari Indica then went in with the other little seedlings.
Pot 1 and Pot 2:

Two just up in Pot 1, should be Cream Mandarine XL and a Safari Indica.
Three up in Pot 2, Dark Devil and who knows, because these got dug out of the pot a couple of weeks ago...

Pot 3 and Pot 4
Pot three should be a Jack 47, and then the long leaning one is a Safari Indica, and the other .... who knows, hopefully Green Crack??
Pot 4 ... either Mz or Blue Amnesia or Safari Indica.

I dropped in today's long Safari Indica sprout in Pot 1.

8 seedlings out of the ground, should be a ninth in a day or two.

We have a beginning of a grow here, AFN crew!

So out for a smoke, just rolled a skinny straight J today.
A little bud of flowers and two Rizla papers rolls just right.
Happy toking out by a park to freeway bridge over the river.
