Oh Maria, growing this anti canna period deserves much respect, do you have the chance to get some daylight/sun and reflecting it with mirrors behind/around the babys to increase light level?
And TY for the pics! As you said: no pics, no party! :pass:

All such things are nice ideas, but it's on the window sill in the suburbs of the city.
That's would just be too weird and attract local attention....
Still planning on scoping out the garden and doing some prep.
Need a bright night, full moon for security....

Another couple of days of nice fairly sunny weather.
Temps up around max 24 min 17.
They're loving this, looking pretty good (all things considering).

The largest are now putting out their 3rd true set / node.
Though looks like mainly 3-pointers still (not surprising).

And, the three that were staked up with disposal bamboo chopsticks
now look to be able to hold their own without them.
I'm leaving that stakes in for now, though, in case of wind.
I really need to have NO stakes when they go out to guerilla garden.
Otherwise that will draw far too much attention from my "weeds".*

* Hate to use the term "weed" for my herbs.
But that's what I'm hoping others will see them as.

More good weather to come. Forecast for next week is mainly sunny.
Almost no rain forecast for perhaps 10-15 days. Should be drier. Good.

Slowly but surely with this crazy winter grow!!!!!

Love and hugs,
MJS

Patience is the key, wish you and your plantas a merry christmas Maria!:pass:
And can't wait the ongoing process of your adventure, it brings some warm feelings in my cold eu area, lol!:smoking:

Day / Week whatever...

With a bit more sun, the older ones are doing much better, though still very small.
I think that the taller ones are mainly the Safaris, and the Indica/Afghani pheno at that.
The smaller ones are prob some of the autos, which are ... surviving.

Pots 3-4

All pots looking from 1 to 4.

So, looks like we have 3 fairly healthy but small Mandala Safari indica-afghani pheno F1,
they are just now putting out their 4th node of true leaves, but still on 3 or 5 pointers...
and possibly a better auto in Pot 3, which would be either Jack 47 or Green Crack.
But a total of 12 living plants total...

Problem: the little ones are very small still,
but the bigger ones are getting too big for security on the window.
But they're all together in the same pots. So, do I ...
Just put them all outside in the guerilla garden (as yet not prepared...)
Or, top the larger Safaris, and wait another week or too
(though no guarantee the autos are really going to get much bigger).

?

Any thoughts?

I would too the taller ones to give the smaller ones a chance to strengthen up.

Damn, your girls show that canna plants are conditional to sun/lights for serious strength, if the outdoor conditions aren't in a acceptable mood for ya i would keep them at home!:hookah:

In the best news for a while....

Managed to convince my partner that we should really do some indoor urban gardening.

Just ordered a nice little COB LED light from China, true Watt is about 100+W, for US$85.
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...643.html?spm=2114.12010608.0.0.7eca3c21ikaAIZ
The name is "600W", but actually 112W or something, full spectrum, free shipping.

And a nice little DWC hydroponic system, 27 holes, only about 50 cm x 30 cm in size.

We're getting a tall metal 4-level shelf, 90 cm x 45 cm = 3' x 1.5', so will experiment with this first.
We're going to do rocket, kale, lettuce, etc. plus the window basil and rosemaria herbs...

If all goes well, we can add other DWC hydroponics (or aeroponics) boxes onto it.
The COB should be enough to light up a whole level at about 0.4 m2 = 4.5 sq ft.

I'm going to move the window sill herbs onto the shelf too, as the first hydro box will only take up about half one shelf.
And these little babies are going to take off....

Love and hugs,
MJS
