I was just wondering how you guys do your trimming and when?

I was going to wait till right before I jarred them to trim them up. Do I try to cut all leaves without trichs on them at the stem and one's with quite a bit of trichs just level with bud?
Or do you guys just level it to shape of bud?
I didn't really see any posts in here about trimming, maybe I'm just over thinking it.

i like to get most all the sugar leafs off before putting it in jars....but that's just me.most people just trim it to their liking.

I trim right when the plant is cut down. Fresh leaves are easier to work with than dry crispy ones. I trim my buds to pretty much form that bud look. Ive experimented with leaving the little sugar leaves longer but i felt it made a harsher smoke and took away a little from the taste. Everyone has their preference tho. I make hash or something with the trimmings so thats why i dont mind cutting them close. Im actually getting ready to make my first tincture with my trimmings.

its faster to trim when first cut then when dried. But when it tends to dry out faster when trimmed first. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. its all preferences

i trim leaves off and use them in smoothies way before the dry. The JEM leaves are delish!!

Personally, I cut the buds off the plant one by one and trim each...round and round til I'm tired of manuevering my snips in between the fat little buds....Sometimes, when a plant needs harvested and I am not physically able to do it all, I just trim the big stuff away and hang in my dry box....then go back and trim a little at a time day by day...but I do prefer to trim when chopped with the bigger buds being trimmed individually...when I get down to satelite buds, sometimes I'll trim a little,.....sometimes, I just throw them in the hash bag.....
Either way ya do it, an important incredient is controlled air movement around ya buds...

I trim as much as I can when they've just been chopped. If I can easily get to the stem to take the entire sugar leaf off, I do so. Otherwise I snip the tips off giving it the classic bud shape. Since I'm vaping 90% of the time I don't go nuts trying to get every bit of sugar leaf off, since they vape as good as bud as long as they're covered in trichs. When I'm planning to smoke, I'll usually give the cured bud a bit more of a cleanup to lessen the amount of leaf material. Sometimes it's easier to clear out the stray sugar leaves after curing because the bud shrinks up and you can reach the stem easier.

i chop and trim in one movement, cutting up the main stem, i cut above each node, trim all fans, and protruding bud leaves, then hang the wishbones to dry. depends on the strain tho, as far as how much of the sugar leaf is kept, or hash/budder bagged. i know some guys, with certain strains will dry em, and run their hand down em to strip the majority of the leaves in one pass. on some strain the leaves become entangled in the buds if dried first.
