I'm just starting to research about building my own cobs i have a small area of 60cmx60cm can you tell me what the best set up would be in that size?

I shouldn't be posting in the grow journal section. The beauty of owning 2 lights is that you can convert one while you keep the other going. The viper 300 was a dream to convert. I threw away the LED section and attached 2-1812 citizen cobs directly to the heatsink. That alone would enough light for the space. I think it came back at 60-70 watts. If you felt you needed more light you could convert the second light too.

Thats music to my ears [emoji7] as my vipar 300 has just stopped working due to a lose connection somewhere lol so the driver in the vipar is significant enough to swap out for 2 cobs?

Yes you should definitely test the driver though. It's actually important the light works before you tear it apart as there is only 1 driver in that light so it does need to be functional. The 300 is more a toy than a light, no offense. You can trust me on this, you will not be disappointed.

Just about any LED light can be converted. Snap some pictures of the drivers and I'll let you know what's the best option

So when I plug this set up in, the COB just blinks every second or so. What’d I do wrong

I have the stats on the 450, My conclusion was 2 50V per driver.

Two drivers
Input Voltage AC100-240 V
Output Voltage 100-140V
Output Current 670-700mA

This one could fit 4 1812's? Two on each driver.
