Indoor The Green Man Grows - FastBud's Stardawg & Pyramid Seed's Auto Blue Pyramid + Soil head to head

So far all the plants have been treated the same, no feed has been given - only water - so it's still a pretty fair comparison. The overall size difference between the Stardawgs isn't vast, but still noticeable.

But the Blue Pyramids...

The difference between the BP's is quite large and they both popped very closely together. It's very early days yet - the smaller ones may catch up? - but they were due to be fed organic nutes. With the slow start and organics generally yielding less, I'm thinking it might be worth taking them out and putting something else in, rather than waste feed and electricity on a couple of runts. lol.

My thoughts are the PM+ may be a bit too hot for freshly germed seeds :confused1:. The first leaves on the BP came through quite thick. Something else may be causing the size difference, but for it to be the same for both strains, it's leading me to think the Biobizz is just, well, better. lol

What are your thoughts?

Yeah, please keep 'em going!
We're keen to see the soil comparison, because you've done a nice job in setting up the experiment.

Thanks for your input :d5:, It's really nice to have somewhere to brainstorm with people :toke:, I'll keep the ladies going.

So, I'm likely to be running the same feed regime on both soil types now, that's the only way we can truly put the soils head to head. I'd have to keep all other variables the same for a proper comparison. Either regime will do, just as long as all the pots are treated equally. Come harvest time, we should clearly be able to see the difference in the performance of each soil.

Hmmmmm do I use the synthetic schedule or the organic one? I'm leaning towards the synthetic feed, purely because it's likely to yield more and I've seen both A-train and TaNg use similar schedules with great success.

Their first feed is set for day 10, so I'll likely update again on day 11, once they've had a chance to take on the nutes a bit.

Thanks again, I appreciate the back-up.

Here's the feed schedule I'm probably going to use. This is taken from the recent grow battle between A-Train and Trapper. https://www.autoflower.org/threads/trapper-vs-a-train.53095/page-6 (Some good bush in that thread btw )

I made it into a chart because my mind can follow it better that way. :smoking:

All measures are in mls per litre.

So, the ladies are on day 13 now .

I was away over the last couple of days and came back to some busted ducting, a very hot tent, and a poor air-con unit desperately trying to cool the place down. The plants have taken a little bit of flak, but nothing that they shouldn't be able to handle. Just got a minor bit of leaf cupping from the temps, the start of some leaf curl from the over-zealous fan and they look like they're bending away from the light a bit. Generally, they look okay though, all had the first dose of feed on day 10 and they seem to be enjoying it so far. They're a nice colour and they've started to get going a bit now. I'll upload some pictures later on today.

:peace:

So there they are @ day 13. The worst affected by the busted ducting situation has been the Biobizz Blue Pyramid, she has a minor bit of leaf curl starting on the lower left fan. The droop that can be seen was light stress, as she's gone back to normal now (during the dark period). The lights have been raised a bit - and are still set on 250w - so she should be okay.

Interestingly, the Stardawgs are pretty neck and neck in the size stakes, so the soil supreme SD has caught up a bit. The Soil Supreme BP is still half the size of that in the Biobizz, so It may be a smaller pheno? We shall see.

Next feed will be on day 15, I will update again around day 16 - 17

Thanks for looking. :toke:
