Bud Life.
Hey there, fellow gardeners. I'm The Green Man and this is my first Journal, so welcome!
I'm currently running a round of autos - four ladies in total; two Stardawg and two Auto Blue Pyramid. I'm trying out a couple of regimes for this grow and a couple of different types of soil. I'm a stickler for detail, (I've heard the devil can be found there lol) so this will be a wordy thread.
I'll give you a full rundown of my setup. But first, let us meet the genetics...
Stardawg has been given her name due to the dazzling array of trichomes that cover her flowers and leaves when in bloom. She comes recommended by the seed bank for conditions related to stress and anxiety, so she has been chosen for her medical characteristics, as well as her aesthetic appeal. Here is her page on the FastBuds website.
I've grown this strain before and I found her to be a very pleasant and balanced smoke. She's a hybrid and I believe part of her parentage is a member of the blueberry family. Very calming and quite high in CBD (1.4%), this strain has been recommended for her therapeutic properties as well. Check her out over at the Pyramid Seeds page
So here's where they'll be living for the next 10 weeks...
1.2m x 1.2m x 2m Budbox grow tent.
600w HPS dual spectrum Sunmaster lamp.
Viper 6" carbon filter.
Rhino 6" extractor.
Rhino H03067 air conditioner for climate control.
Standard 15 litre/4 gallon pots.
As I mentioned previously, I'm running two schedules. The first I have stolen from @A-Train, so I am very much obliged to him. The second is one I'm developing myself. Both schedules are comprised mainly of the Advanced Nutrients line. Here's some info about the first schedule.
I'll be growing 1 x SD and 1 x BP in Biobizz Light Mix Soil and using a mainly synthetic line of nutes. These are, AN's Grow, Micro, Bloom as the base nutes. Followed by; Voodoo Juice, Pirhana, B52, Rhino Skin, CaMg, Sensizyme, Bud Candy, Big Bud, Overdrive and some Flawless Finish at the tail end.
The second schedule is comprised of only organic nutes. I'll be growing 1 x SD and 1 x BP in Plant magic+ Soil Supreme. This is a bit hotter than the light mix, as I thought I could do with the backup from the extra ferts, just incase my numbers were off. Her diet will consist of the following; AN's Iguana Juice - Grow & Bloom as the base. Followed by; Ancient Earth, Voodoo Juice, Piranha, Sensizyme, and Nirvana. I'll also be using some CaMg+ from General Organics, some biogenic silicon from NPK industries and maybe some molasses in there somewhere near the end as well.
Prep and planting...
The pots were filled with soil and primed with a good soaking of aerated water and equivalent of 1ml/litre of Voodoo Juice. These were placed in the tent - lights on 250w - for 24 - 36 hours to drain properly and come up to temperature. I gave the beans a bit of a scuff and soaked them for 4 - 6 hours in water and equivalent of 4ml/litre of Bio Rhizotonic from Canna. I've found this really softens up the outer husks of the seeds and ensures they pop unconstricted, I've had some issues with that in the past. After their bath, I planted them into their pots and we had heads up on Wednesday 7/9/16 from all.
