Grow Mediums The Coco Home Thread -- Calling ALL Coco Growers!!!

Hey guys I am a new indoor grower and I really want to use coco, my seeds have just split open in the paper towel and I need to know what to use as my first medium. Also I have read that it's not good to transfer autoflower so can someone please guide me so I don't waste my seeds? Thanks

Hey. Maybe best to move this question to the newbie forum.
If your seeds just split, you need to get some medium ready pretty damn fast!

I'd really recommend good potting mix / soil for a first grow.
Maybe with just a little coco.
Soil more forgiving than coco, build up your skills.
If you don't have much medium, first get them into some small pots or cups with soil.
Even a solo cup with a few holes punched the bottom will be okay.
It'll be ok for a week or two, no problems.
Though ideally, cracked seeds into final larger pots is best.
If you can get some soil / coco fast enough!!!!

Thanks so much. I bought some coco and fox farm ocean forest. I was thinking about going 50/50. I have grown for years outdoors and never with autoflower sass o I guess I have a lot to learn. Thanks

Personally I would pick one or the other.

Well, I checked the ph and its perfect with about 2/3 ocean forest and 1/3 coco. I may kick myself in the ass, but live and learn right? That's why I only germinated 2 autoflower seeds for my first indoor grow. I am hoping that it works out. I'd like to hear from anyone who has any input on this. I will keep you guys updated. This is an awesome forum! Here us a picture of my grow cabinet in process without the lights and fans etc, but almost done!

How has the grow been going? The 2/3 1/3 mix should have been just fine. I've seen plenty of posts with coco/soil mixed.

Its going pretty good, I got a little heavy with the pk which caused som mag issues etc, but I believe I have her back on track. The Sour Kush couldn't take as much pk as Tangerine Dream. Heres a couple pics of them. Thanks for asking also!

first time in coco!
so i got some clones about a week ago, said they are about 2 months old
transplanted them to 3g airpots in a 70/30 coco to perlite mix
feeding AN veg A+B root excelurator, b52, calmend by dutch nutrients after flushing the plants at around 500PPM
under a california lightworks 550 in a 5x5 tent
temp 25
rh 45%
been feeding them twice a day, about 500 ml each, tons of runoff each time
when they came it looked like they had phos/calmag defeciencies, but they were praying up to the light alot
i just switched them to 18/6 on saturday and when i got them they had just had a heavy defol done to them
from my extensive 10m search on google...it looks like overwatering?? thought that wasnt a thing with coco?
unsure if i should keep watering as much or let them dry out a bit
o and PH at 5.7
