A dull start to the day. We have some rain forecast but also some sun so the 3 older ones are going outside while I'm at work.
They'll keep my container grown raspberry company which may also offer them some shelter if we get very heavy rain.

Sometimes it's the simplest of solutions....

So I've spent about 20 mins this evening messing around with the height of my CFLs to try and keep 3 different height plants happy when it strikes me...

Instead of adjusting the lights why don't I adjust the pots! Duh!

Oh Swan you silly sausage why didn't you think of that before [emoji3]

Day 15 / 16

My 3 bigger girls are doing well and running out of room. They've all grown more compact compared to last year I've kept the lights lower.
They do 7am to 8pm outside then 2 or 3 hrs under lights before bedtime. By mid next week they'll be outdoor dwellers as I'm running out of room and my lights won't go up any further.

By then I will top Casanova (Love Potion). So I count 4 nodes up from the seed leaves right?

Blueberry is doing ok, she's staying low but growing

She's at day 10 so will spend upto another 2 weeks on the outdoor / indoor pattern I reckon.

I've also got 5 sunflowers tucked in the side of my grow box and 5 more germing on the windowsill.

Last year I grew 1 solitary sunflower seed. It was inadvertently topped by blackfly at about 3 foot tall. The main stem died back and she sprouted lots of side branches that grew past the dead stem and all flowered [emoji3]

I adjust my pot heights rather than lights. It's a lot easier for me.

Day 18: strap em down!

This evening I anchored and bent over Limey and Nanas (tell me if my plant nicknames are confusing?!).

Limey is the tallest and was a candidate for topping but as I'm really interested in a CBD strain I didn't want to risk anything on her like topping.

Here's where my small pots are not the best decision, I don't have much distance around the edge from the middle to tie down to but we'll see how it goes.

So far looking quite compact...

My anchors with safety pins and pipe cleaner...

And this is Love Potion who's gonna be topped. This seed was like my 2nd or 3rd choice as the ones I wanted were out of stock so despite the name I'm not feeling the love for the strain so much, hence why I'm prepared to throw caution to the wind and top her.

I'll cut in there tomorrow. Right now I don't quite have the room I feel to manoeuvre a blade in there well enough for a decent cut.

Best use scissors to top her instead of this hey [emoji16]

UPDATE: Chocced and Topped.

Well this evening I decided to make an AVB hot chocolate.
It's been 20 years since I last had edibles/drinkables when in Amsterdam and after just 30 minutes a nice little buzz kicked in. That was 3 hours ago and I'm still enjoying it [emoji16]

Anyway, I decided to top Love Potion this evening.

That's where we are gonna choppiddy chop chop

And she's done

Let's see how she handles it.
