Some help with drying/curing

I will be adding a humidifier to the room with my tents. Trying to find the right one. I don't want to have to fill it everyday and I need one that will regulate the rh. Not just run all the time or need a timer.

I would look into an evaporative humidifier. They can be run on tap water and are relatively inexpensive. They do have filter/wicks inside that need to be changed out eventually. A few drops of bleach in the tank can extend that quite a bit.

I don't know if you have seen the Inkbird humidity controllers? One of those plugged into the wall and the other to your humidifier. It has a sensor and will cycle the unit to maintain Rh as best it can.

That's about the most hands free and low cost, easy setup I can think of.

As far as filling frequency, that would depend on how hard it needs to run and tank size. I have this particular model myself. I like being able to fill from the top, no tank to flip fill and carry. Also a simple on/off mechanical switch. It allows the inkbird to control it. Fancier units with membrane buttons and settings won't work. Just an idea

This is where the box seems to have settled. How long should I leave it in the box?

Should be a few days at 64%. I was never good at the stem snap test but they should snap and not be stringy. At that point they are dry enough to jar. If you have an extra couple bucks, you can buy a pin type moisture meter and check the buds instead of guessing.

I’ll order one now. What do you want the moisture content to be when using the moisture meter?

I actually just found this. Does everyone agree with this?

I took them in and out of the Grove bags when I got numbers higher than 10%. At 10% I still had to burp the bags. But that's just my experience.

good information, but keep in mind that these are water content of the buds, not relative humidity.

Right lol. That’s why I asked hahaha. Man, could you imagine drying buds til the rh was 12%
Can you spell "crispy"? Also, your joint might burn all the way to your lips before you could spit it out.

Moisture meter ordered. It’ll be here Friday. I’ll probably wait til Sunday to open the box. If they’re not dry enough I’ll put them in paper bags to finish.
