Indoor Saving The Old Dragons

Plant 1, is the seeded green plant. This smells of lemon, menthol, spicy & fresh.

Intrinsic part of the line.....:headbang:..reasonably infrequent...Probably goes back to an Afghan.

My Prefered meds is the Incense pheno..Linalool Heaven...thick coating smoke..:pass:

If I Lose the Incense I Hunt it down in the Lemon Line.

It contains Treasures.

Lemon Dragons I could live with.

Everything from light lemon aftershave to robust lemon sherbet in there..never met a Lemon I didn't Like..

Also..watch for Lime...distinct difference from the Lemon.

Lime is the Deep Chunk showing up...and That is one of my all time favourites.

Go @niceneasy :dragon7:

Glad you found your way Home @L :bighug:

How's it going all, yes I am back im about to start a new grow thread here in the next week or so. I have a lot of different dragon seeds that I have been trying to germ and have had no luck with anything sprouting.

I've had some crack open during the germination process, the Taproot barely pops out and it's as far as they've got. I'm guessing they're old hard shells I need to look into this seed cracker everybody speaks of.

Really like seeing the revival of these dragons, hope all has been well with everyone.

Happy growing,
Lever

Great news on the grow thread mate, fingers crossed on the germ. Was told you might be stopping by, glad you did - hit us with the link when you are ready.

In regards to the seeds, that's exactly the same issue I had with some of mine. They seemed very tired, no zip to start growing like normal seeds. If you cannot get a seed cracker, then I'd try the scuff method. Empty match box, cut some sandpaper to fit inside, and then put the seed in. Shake for a minute or so, and then I believe it was soaked for a little while in normal water before planting. If you've got enough seeds, then persevere. I got enough viable plants to start a new generation, but I went through a lot of seeds to get them.

All been well worth it though.

Nice one, cheers for all the info Mossy. Glad there is a Lemon version already, as it makes it that bit more probable I've got one. I can't wait to get started on the next lot now, but we're still two weeks out from chop of the suspect. Exciting times :)

So does cracking the seeds help them get past the taproot? I had only 2 come out of the shell to form the first 2 pre leaves but they die shortly after. First one was Royal Bluematic auto and the second was Royal Diesel auto. The diesel is still alive but it's still looking like it popped yesterday. The pre leaves are very dark green and it hasn't produced any serrated leaves yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe it would help mate, as the seedling would not be wasting any energy trying to get out of the shell. Try the scuffing technique as well, see if that makes a difference, if you don't want to start buying things.

As for not producing leaves, I personally waited weeks for some of mine to start off. Page 1 of this thread shows my original seed problems. Persevere I say, they may kick into gear after a while. Take a magnifying glass, and see if you can see any new leaves, they may be Very small. If there are some, then leave them for a while.

Here's a couple of shots of seedlings from the F1, some of them eventually became plants. Parents of this current lot.

Week 16 / 17 - F2.

Just riding out the weeks now till I chop. I was going to cut down the seeded plant this week, but going to give it another couple of weeks.

I was getting impatient, and wanted to see if any seeds were developed yet. In the end up I accidentally tore a little bit of bud off, and there are fully formed seeds there. They look a little green to me still, so going to give the extra time. I have worked with greener & smaller seeds before, so I am happy that we are very close to the finish line with the next gen taken care of.

I don't mean to be naive or insulting, but what's the specific appeal of these Dragons? I thought I recalled reading somewhere here that they were some of the earliest autos bred, but these look pretty small and not particularly appealing. Is it really good weed that's better than or as good as modern auto strains? Is there something unique about it? Or is for old time's sake, growing out a favored classic?

No problem to ask questions mate, and you definitely raise a few reply worthy points.

Why these Dragons? They are the only ones I have, and I like the smoke. I also like to keep originals, and these are from way back - BD [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]. I've grown a lot of autos, and other than Auto AK, maybe a Diesel, these rank high in my list of getting high. For me the black ones have a very unique smell, taste, and I love a purple.

No idea about the breeding really, but I'm sure Mossy could tell you if she's about.

These look small etc as the first lot were grown from 6 year old seeds, and had a lot of problems. But they did produce a stronger generation, which are the current set.

The new plants have been in very small containers (a litre or two max), as only for seeds till F3. The small dark one spent the first 8 weeks of its life in my window, in UK April, so i'm surprised it grew at all. The other plant is heavily seeded, and spent its veg with 3 other plants in that container.

The seeds from this run will be grown out later in the year. This time I'll be placing them in regular pots, decent space, no babies, to see what I'm now working with. Stick around, and hopefully we'll both be pleasantly surprised.

** If none of that makes sense, then sorry. I'm am very stoned at the moment. :)
