Indoor Saving The Old Dragons

I am sorry to hear about your weather issues. I love your work trying to save the Dragons.

Cheers bud, it's hard work but rewarding. 3 more weeks, and then I'll try again as temps will be better. I'm glad I got a load of seeds from the last grow, as used quite a few already.

F4 Update.

Male has been culled, as he was not looking good. But he served his purpose well. I think he may have pollinated a couple of the older plants, but it will only be a few strays.

We have 7 female plants, all very small due to the cold, but they are still top plants. 4 are on Week 10, 3 on Week 6 ish. I'll be taking the first batch to Week 13, which is April 2nd, and planting some new seeds then.

These are the newer plants.

And the older, only 2 weeks out.

Very nice!! What's the purple one? I'm about to do a Mumbling Dragon next.

They are all Black Dragons, but only some turn.

I've been looking at the Mumbling for a while now, great heritage. I was thinking of mating with these at one point, but my seed buying days are over for the moment.

F4 Update - Week 12.

Cut down 4 of the little plants (those on week 12), leaving 3 (currently week 9). It looks like all of these 4 are seeded, which is excellent news as it shows the virility of the male pollen I've kept. It is still too cold at night to plant any new seeds, and so I have decided to wait till the end of June to complete the F4 run. I intend to use the frozen pollen from the male on a female photo, in the time between then and now.

Some pics then. Only a couple of grams a piece, but I think they are lovely looking ladies.

Check the seeds, just ready to fall from this girl.

The buds have been dried, and although there is not much of it the smoke is still nice. Major bonus is the fact I gained 55+ new F4 seeds. To me this really proves the virility of the male, and strength of the females, to produce them under such harsh conditions. I didn't think any were going to make it.

I'm unsure what to do with the thread now, as I think I've done what I set out to do & saved my old Dragons. As for going F5 and beyond, not sure yet. I may plant some more seeds of the F3 set and do the F4 again, but they do look like cracking seeds, so I'll have to think. I don't have to make a decision for another month of so anyway, while my photo flowers.

I've learned a lot about the Dragon line in this thread, so thanks to everyone who chipped in and shared. Nice to see so many people growing great varieties of this plant, especially as I first thought they were dying out. But hell no, thriving.

To finish, here's a couple of shots of the new F4 seeds.

If you want, check my new project here
