So happy I found this grow mate, so much info it's amazing. I've only managed to make it to page 5 before I had question ping-pong around my head. I've always thought it was temp change/difference that made it happen because I've seen people grow purple kush( or any plant known to change colour) and get no purple/colour only green. So it's just low temp I'm learning that is "sometimes not always the case" but it helps turns the colour. BUT in around about way the temp drop lights off and rise again lights on might be best compromise to ensure colour change but not hurts plants growth to much. Is theory correct or am I over thinking.

I find quite a lot with canna, there is always the exception. Low temps will help turn the plant, if it is predisposed to do so already. Prolonged low temps will probably turn your plant black to, but really this is hurting the plant & yield suffers (see below for my Girl Scout Cookies Photo example). You could definitely lower the temps at night to try and trigger the change, you can go 10 degrees (according to the books) at lights off without any issue, so if you are in the lower 20's lights on, then it might be enough. I wouldn't do it for long though, as growth seems to slow as well.
