New Grower REDO - IN AT THE DEEP END !! - DWC/LED/Remo Nutrients: Fruit Punch Auto/Cheese Auto

Well, things got interesting :grrr2:

The ladies developed Calmag issues over the last few days and the rez was screwing me around with regards to pH and ppm.
Turns out my circulating pipes had got blocked with goop, so the ladies had eaten all of the nutrients in their containers, but hadn't gotten it replaced by the nutes in the rez :face:.
All they were getting was gravity-fed when they were drinking, with zero circulation going.

In the bottom of my cupboard where I keep everything was sitting a nice, fresh, unopened bottle of Ata-clean that I had forgotten ALL about, and so hadn't been using it.

I have no option at this point but to send myself off early to bed in shame :redcard:

Did a full rez change (with Ata-Clean this time) and will let it circulate for an hour or so and check the pH/ppm
Hopefully, no lasting harm done to the ladies (especially at this stage of the game)

I now have my pH settled at 5.9
the ppm on the other hand is waaaaaaaay up to 1160ppm
Going to have to keep a close eye on that as it was previously 600-700 (ish)
Part of the increase is due to having to increase the calmag, and part is due to being on full bloom nutes and using a silicone additive.
I will probably end up taking about 40 measurements tomorrow to make sure the shit doesnt hit the fan

Hope you get it straightened out! Sounds like you have it under control. Good grow vibes!

DAY 69
I have been raising the lights over the last 4 or 5 days because I thought I was getting light burn on the tops of a few colas.
Turns out that its just natural darkening.
Hard to see in this picture, but there is now a slight purple tinge to all the buds - you can JUST see it on the tops of a few sugar leaves at the top.
Still getting frostier too.

Damned thing looks like a big ball of Colas! (not that I am complaining)

The other Fruit punch at the back is showing no signs of frosting yet, but its significantly taller than the front one.
In addition, the colas are longer, but the bud spacing is a bit further apart then the front plant.
Did some LST on it to spread out the colas a bit more - will leave it for a few days until the stems bend to correct for it, and then I will swap the LST onto a few more that I didn't do.
Will get some better pics of it later.

Due to one being a good 2-3 weeks ahead of the other, I will probably use both 600W Viparspectras angled in on the second one after I harvest the first.
Should give more light penetration and help get some fatter buds :D

I removed the fan leaves that had calmag deficiencies and no new deficiencies have shown up yet, so it seems I was able to get on top of that.
Also, no nute burn with the increase in ppm, so it looks like we are off to the races :gamer::gamer:

DAY 70 UPDATE

Rez topped up with plain, aerated water - non-pH adjusted deliberately to raise the pH slightly as these Fruit Punch seem to like it 6.1-6.3.
That seems to be related to their need for CalMag as they struggle and get issues if it is outside that range.

After topping the Rez:
pH: 6.1
ppm: 870
Air temp: 25C
Water Temp: 17.5C
Humidity: 45-60%

Current Nutrient Levels (all millilitres per litre)

Magnifical: 1.25
Micro: 1.5
Bloom: 1.5
Astroflower: 1.5
Natures Candy: 1.5
Velokelp: 0.75

Also a Silica additive at 0.5ml/l

Fruit Punch#1 (the one thats a few weeks behind) is looking good. Slight hint of the first crystals forming (but that may just be my wishful thinking).
It's canopy is fairly even - just a few inches between the tops of most colas. I may need to do a little bit more LST just to get it into the shape I want.
This is the lady that gets the CalMag issues soonest, so I am running the amount and the pH mainly for her.

Fruit Punch#2 - the one further ahead.
Still looking great.
I did some LST on her to spread out the colas a bit as it was getting very crowded in the center of the plant.
I may have removed a lower bud from her last night and fired it into the oven for a quick dry.
It may have got me giggling like a 6 year old girl.
That's the only sample I will be taking before harvest. Honest Guv.

very nice dude.beautiful garden. keep it up;) happy growing;)
:bighug:

Getting impatient now, and am already planning my next grow.
3 plants of the same strain.
One with LST only.
One Topped and with LST.
One FIMmed and with LST.

The impatience will not lead me to harvesting early though. Not THAT impatient ;)
