The difference in temps between our units could just be calibration of the gauges? ethanol/water begins to vaporize at different temps depending on the alcohol water ratio.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Did you get your wife's scraper cleaned off? ISO works good for cleaning tools. You need to be watching the temp gauge closely as soon as it moves up 1 increment on the scale you need to turn it down and open the unit to boil off the remaining water. At least that is how I have been doing it.

Thanks for the info about how you do it. I did see it go up, though I thought the process would be over soon. I did not turn it down as per instructions. I was just pleased I recovered so much of the Everclear. I guess I recovered too much.

I threw it away. It was just so covered with the "tar". She has lived with me for nearly 50 years. She quietly remains displeased with me.

My first concentrate vape pen arrives on Monday. So I will test it out then, the Rubi by Kandypens.

I did forget to take into consideration that I am at 5000 ft. So the boiling temp is 74.6C and I will use that temp next time. Once I remove the lid to boil off the water, do I want it to be like syrup?

Right now I am decarbing 2 oz of the Green Crack, yes I made sure the jars said GREEN CRACK. I will use the MBM and use VG this time and see how this turns out

Don't do it! it is a waste of good weed. It comes out so weak you can drink a glass of it.

Look back in this thread there are pictures of the water I boiled off. It is all white from the alcohol that is still in it.

How did you end up with so much water? Am I seeing this pic correct? The water line is over the "FULL" line? All I used was the 500 ML from the green dragon.

That is just a mirror reflection of the bottom. It is about 1/16th of an inch.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I had the temp at 78C then kicked it up to 80C on my first use of the distiller. I did watch the temp gauge pretty close. I noticed that when the green light went on it stopped at 78/80C, but after the heat turned off (red light) the temp kicked up to 90C to 100C. So I will need to gauge the temp by the gauge on the wheel. How long did it take you to run until you removed the top to boil off the water?

very hard to make GOPOD vape juice with VG or PG. But there is a solution, I've tested it and you won't find a diy that will match it! Terpene extracts! Now that is some you could do your self, but........ takes experience and expensive equipent. There is a company that sells bulk terpene soltions with lots of flavor options. This is what the best vape cartridges in dispensaries use now.
