Hi guys
I am really struggling with the heat at the moment. Not even using hps yet and only MH and temps under light are 34 and ambient temps approx 32

So in a couple of weeks I will be on HPS.....

I need to look at these quantum boards, how do they compare to the HPS for heat, distance and results.
Currently rocking a 600w in a 4 plant space of approx 1.5m(h) x 1m(w) x 1(d)
This space is used for veg under MH and HPS

How close can these get to the plants, anyone else jumped from HPS and glad they did?
What sort of cost would I be looking at?

Take a look at Autocobs such as those available from www.cobshop.net. Low heat, no noise (no fan) very efficient, low electrical draw, small and easy to move around and as bright as our sun. I have 6 and many others in here own them too. Good luck.

I can't comment on HPS as I'm full LED guy from the start but i can tell you is they will reduce heat by loads... HPS projects heat downward, leds project heat upwards so its a lot easier to remove it from your space plus they do produce a lot less

Strain dependent and and at what amperage the LED's are being driven, a good rule of thumb for light hight is 18 - 12" from the canopy... that being said I let mine get with-in 6" on some grows but that's photoperiod's, Most auto's like a little less light than photo's.

To replace a 600w hps gram for gram in a 4x4 space you want 400-500w of COB / QB's led. A rough rule of thumb in the LED DIY world is 32-50w per square foot. Don't use that rule of thumb on shop bought LED's unless it's made of COB's or QB's.

Price wise I would budget my self £300 - £400 for a 400-500w array... I'm UK based so pay a lot more on some parts like my QB's and heat sinks if I import them from the states/china.

Here's a few pic of what you can achieve with QB's, this is my second grow with this light and my first run with this strain. Still preaty pleased with the grow... 2 QB's at 2100ma about 120w per board ina

Once you get good with the QB's and the cobs, with the right strains you will be hitting 1.5 - 2 g per watt... everyone reports that the buds get more rock hard, yes you loose a little on size (you don't notice once in the bag) but gain double on the weight of the bud. Also you may notice and increase in trics, LED's can produce a frostier plant, great if your into your extracts.

we are talking about QB’s not cobs , are you on that guys pay roll? None of us are sponsors, but we don’t spam qb’s in cob threads . I wouldn’t have said anything, but this site is loaded with cob information & I’m sure the guy asked about the threads topic , not cobs . Stay classy.

its all OK dude, cobshop.net is an official vendor on the site and mention of the company is fully welcome in the QB thread. No one is on the pay roll and one mention of the company is not spamming... also I think that the subject of QB's mixed with COB's need discussing. I'm on my first grow with a mix of 2 QB's and 8 citizen 1212's cobs. Altogether pulling 420w at 1050ma. So far seeing great results... So with that in mind the subject of cobs and possible where to buy the real deal is welcome in the QB thread.

Stay classy? No need for tude dude. I didn't realize that I was in QB, so it was a simple mistake and I am sure that even you have made mistakes too. I was going off the posters heat problems and the fact that he wasn't even using HPS and only MH while getting high temps. Are those two lights QB? It was merely about heat and one alternative to heat and that's it. It was to help, not subvert your QB's.

I have a cree cob tasty t4 2100 335 watts I love it 2100 ma meanwell driver. I also have an array of led lights. We just wanted to try out this new tech bro. I probably by the time IAM done will have a couple of those fine Cobs from my man BiGSmo. Glad to have you around my man by mistake or not thanks for giving the dude some rightous adivce.
