Lighting Quantum board thread.

That is some wicked light coming from that board my man I can hardly wait. I got a 304 board IAM now waiting on a reply for a heat sink and a driver to put another 125 to 135 watt board myself that will be 480 watts to 500 watts of quantum. Do you hang yours higher then other lights? My man Slater.

in all 3 of my spaces they are fix to the max hight and I let the plants grow towards them and train as needed... I will get some pic later, my amnesia has got within 6" at places and showing no signs of light stress.
I've noticed that the plants get a little more freaked out under the cobs if they get to close, especialy when driven at 1400ma plus (thats why I'm loving 1050ma, get them as close at 5" with no issue). The QB's the amnesia's are under are at 2100ma, if they was under cobs at 2100ma 6" would be way too close... the experiments continue but so far I recon you can them grow closer to QB's. I think its due to the QB's speading the wattage out compared to the small area on a cob.

Looks like I underestimated the prices of the V2 boards. The latest quotes I have are from R2T so I’ll use prices from them.

A single 288 V1 board is about $35

288 V2 board is $57. WTF??

Over 60% increase in price for 6% increase in efficiency? Of course, there are tons of wealthy growers who don’t care about figures like these and only wants the best available. If you are one of them and refuse to do any form of DIY (cos you prefer to pay someone to do it right), Mr EQ has a ready made monster light to recommend (cos I’m too cheap to buy them....yet...lol)

Check out this baby! If money is not an issue, I’d buy like 3-4 of these! All in one ready to use with lenses. They are V2 prices. It’s a typo in the image.

How much more expensive? A rough idea. The 800 V1 board I purchased with HLG 320 48B driver plus heatsink, dimmer, timer and the whole shebang STILL costs lesser than this 576 V2 ready made light with lenses.

A few months back when I was still clueless about QBs, these would be what I’d buy. They would last and perform longer under such housing/ protection. Plus, not everyone has the time to get obsessed with something and spent loads of time reading up. The time spent may be worth more than the extra cost.

Anyone who buys this, PLEASE do a review!

I just went on Alibaba I picked meijui or close to that. Bava there heatsink is nothing compared meijui and there customer service is the best. I just asked for a Quantum board kit at around 250 watts I paid a great price. I did very little research. I just heard through the grapevine that tons of growers in Isreal were using them I kid you not so I had to try them. I knew I wanted a meanwell driver and that is how I ended up with Quantum boards.

Posted a problem with connectors but turned out I was an idiot!

Managed to get one board wired.

This was dimmed to lowest.

@F.N. Do you know how to close the dimmer after wiring?

What do I do with the exposed wire? Or do I wire it somewhere? I use a UK plug btw.

Should have everything figured out now. Managed to close the dimmer. I just capped off the additional wire with a connector. All works fine. Tested both 3000K and 4000K boards. 4000K seems brighter. Can't wait to start vegging with this!

I am glad you got it figured out. Is the dimmer working good for you? That is great my son in law is electrically inclined and did all of my wiring. I have 304 board coming with a meanwell driver ending in A which means I can control it from the driver as a chap mentioned above in another post. Bava is down to 76.00 for a whole 288 v1 kit with shipping that is around 110.00 U.S. that is dirt cheap there heatsinks will do but are not the quality of mejeiu on Alibaba I hope that is how it is spelled. 110.00 dollars for 125 to 135 watts of quantum power UNREAL

That's my man Slater I get my lights in days not weeks . Alibaba has a tradefare program if you purchase through that. If you do not get what you paid for they do not get paid the company you purchased from. Mejeiu has been super good to me beyond any company on Alibaba. I had a 304 board where a row was dim. I showed them a picture they sent a 304 board out just like that. It turns out it was my wiring and it works just fine. I have a 304 board brand new. They did not even argue they took the blame and sent out a board that day I was shocked.
