What do you use and why?
I have a basic organic mix.
Miracle grow organic soil with Bio tone an perlite some natural coarse sand. However I want to try a new mix. What works well with the GO BOX for nutes. Would like to stay organics..

I have been using the Go Box for years.

It's intended to be used with soil and that has no nutes, but I've always used potting soil that has nutes.
If there are nutes, you hardly use the two big bottles at all.

There's a number of good brands, and prob some local mixes that would also be good. Most will be better than MG.

What does your local grow store have? Pro-Mix has a good rep, haven't tried it. I am using Roots Original now, and it's good, but not ideal.
I've heard that their other potting soils are better. I've used and liked Dr Earth Home Grown (only the Home Grown, which is the top of their line)
but it's a little expensive, and I'd put it in a middle tier with Roots Original, better than MG, perhaps not as good as the others.

I add perlite to any mix I use (although some already have excellent drainage).

And there are a ton of recipes, both here and across the net, for making your own potting soil. If you are using a Go Box, you aren't growing a lot of plants, so maybe a recipe for 100 pounds of potting soil is overkill at this stage.

Start nutes at 1/4 dose. The exceptions to that are the seaweed, humic and cal/mag, where you want to start at 1/2 dose.

Some plants like to nibble gently at nutes, others are like a starving man at a buffet.
You will have to watch the plant and let it tell you what it wants.

Learn about burn (and other problems, esp. overwatering) and watch for them. A little burn is not bad, but shocking the plant is not at all what you want. I try to avoid burn completely. Think like a gardener, everything they need, but nothing more.

Thanks, I am only doing three at a time in 4gallon pots. I guess it's just figuring out how much G.O. to use. The mix I'm using now someone shared with me I was supposed to use harvest organic potting mix has feet in it but with the mix and what I am using no nuts burn. I just want to try something better. I'm having a horrible camg problem right now and none of my organic local nurseries have crap. Organic with no organic camg lol that speaks for itself. So I want to order some stuff just trying to find out what's best with G.O. box

The Go Box has Cal/Mag in it. It's CaMg+. If you have a cal/mag problem follow the directions on the bottle. You should also check the PH, nutrient lockout is possible.
Can you post some pics of the plant? That would help.

I've used almost every soil available... from Wally World, to Home T-bo to bricks of Coco... Made my own mix like yourself for a bit and even used Espomas Plant Starter Plus @ 4-3-3 w/worm castings... $$$. then I found Roots Organic and foods and never looked back.. experimented since we grow Auto's doing an entire grow with only one PK feeding boost at week 5-6, awesome results.. I even reuse the soil up to 4x's but to amend it with new after 2.. IT IS THE BOMB.. I'd shout it from the Mountains but I live in the swamp and the tallest point around here is shell mtn.. a hill behind a shell gas station.. haha.

So listen to our brother above, he hit it on the nail... if you want you can also add 50/50 coco to this Roots Organic mix, but, stay away from the 707 as it's for outdoor and is much heavier soil ok..

consider their foods, the 2 together are amazing... I use Earth Juice CalnMag along with it and Hydrozyme.

good luck man.

No problem, been doing Autos a year now and regular plants over 10.. First off, let me give you a MJ plant
deficiency chart to download ok.. just right click on it and save..
Chart def larger.jpg

Also, here is a great link to help you learn how to read your plants better and figure out what they need.. sometimes they just need a tsp of Epsom Salt into a gal of water... use this to plain water between feedings. some strains are Calcium hogs.. lol

I'll back in a bit to help ya some more after some chores ok....
