If you have a medical card you can grow legally now. If you don't, you will be able to soon. But only personal amounts (3 flowering, 3 in veg for each adult 21+ up to a max of 6 flowering and 6 veg. Up to 5lbs of buds.)

I figure I can abide by the new MRTA law by starting 3 plants every 60 days or so. That should be more than I can consume and give away. Officially the NYS Office of Cannabis Management says we can't grow legally until they publish rules, which is supposed to happen within 18 months of the first legal retail sales. They want retail dispensaries to open in September (2022). So they might not publish rules for recreational home-growing 'til March, 2024!! I didn't know if I'd live that long, so, unofficially, I started growing a month after the guv signed MRTA into law. I don't think anybody cares about my little indoor grow, but I'm being very discrete anyway. The couple of friends I give weed to don't know I grew it. After growing for a year in the house, my wife doesn't know. That's important, because if she did know, the whole Western Hemisphere would know by dinner time.

I like the 3 every 60 plan, I don't use enough to do that though lol. We'll probably just do the full 6 then take the dry time to clean all the equipment and restock. I only use recreational, mostly in edibles, so I don't use much at all (I can get 96 good strength edibles out of 14g of good flower.) She uses medicinally and mostly smokes so she uses a bit more. Although, this is my first time growing so I may enjoy smoking more when I'm not paying $15/g. I'm not a fan of the "take 2 hits and you're done" kind of stuff so we have GG#4 and Zkittlz for seeds atm.

There is a conundrum here... A catch 22. NY states it will no longer prosecute for cannabis, expunging records from the past pertaining to cannabis arrests. Then they say it is illegal to grow it until everything is in place. If they aren't producing it yet, where is the product coming from. And it's illegal to grow atm but will be legal in the future? Puzzled by their train of thought. Cuomo was supposed to have this committee assembled and all the nuances figured out 8 yrs ago... I will continue as I have! NYS laws be damned! Mostly made for Albany and lower from what I've seen, just like NY safe act. Made for the cities!

The only weed prosecutions I've seen in the news in the last year here in WNY have been truckloads coming across the border from Canada, and a public school teacher accused of growing 2200 lb. for the mafia with police protection. Even though they haven't given us the final approval to grow I'd be pretty surprised to see arrests for personal grows of a few plants, and it would probably be laughed out of court anyway. The corner stores in my neighborhood sell weed and edibles openly over the counter. Unlicensed dispensaries around the Seneca Nation reservation near me are open for business and going strong.

Here’s 3 photoperiods that’ll be planted at my buddies farm first part of June. 55 gal plastic drum bottoms will be their pots. They were cut down to 25 gal line. Big roots, Big Plants! Wide leaf is Seedsman Blueberry and thinner leaved two are JeanO Dank the Tank. I personally think it should be dank da tank, then I could call it DDT. Lol
