New Grower New to forum, first grow journal of first ever grow!

was hoping my journal would have more traffic . oh well ha ha.

so its progress update time! heres a couple pics of day 11, let me know what you think, i have nothing to base the ghrowth on or the health since its first grow. i cant help but feel like it might be stunted somehow, it sure is short compared to other peoples plants that ive seen. so bring on the feedback good or bad!

I would tend to count the first set of true leaves as the first node, others might count from a different spot. But that's the place that it will get its first branches and even a bloom if you allow it.

A good quality cannabis soil should be able to feed your plant without it being too hot for at least two or three weeks if you're in the correct size pot. I know people that get really comfortable with soil will often start feeding right away, but they usually know the strain, their own environmental conditions, a whole bunch of other factors allow them to do that. For instance, I do lots of defoliation and do a lot of limming and basically high-stress training, but my environment is just about perfect and I'm so comfortable with my nutrient lineup and what I'm doing that I can do all that and still have very large yields.

Part of the reason your environment matters so much, is a nutrient level that's just fine one day can be too hot the next based upon changes in your environment. That makes it very tough over time to feed at the most Optimum level.

looks happy n healthy to me day counts everyones different from day 1 is when they planted the seed,to day 1 is the first set of jagged leaves.that can be a spread of 10 days no right or wrong its just whatever we choose.for me the day a plant pops up is day 0 so the day after is day 1 but im odd like that.
day 10 here 6L pot dont think theres much in it ?

a typical auto grow goes like day 0-14 nothing much 15-21 yeah its doing something 22-35 its really taking off 36-48 i hope it stops soon 49-end dosnt grow much just gets fatter,can be hard to tell when you look in x number of times a day,but look back over some pics and growth stands out.
traffic...people arnt ignoring you they just dont know you are here.
a first grow can often get overlooked,most do to some extent.get yourself out there a bit,have a look at what other new growers are doing.pop into live stoners sometime you at a loose end talk drivvel ask a question or post a tune.

so does anyone here tell me roughly how tall the afghan kush ryder autos get on average. im growing in 3 gallon pot, and im starting to worry about not having enough space height waise in my 4 foot grow tent, i originally thought that my led could be hung 12 inches from plant tops during flowering, but ive started reading thats its supposed to be 18 to 24 inches above tops. if hanging at 12 inches during flower then that will allow me roughly 2 feet of vertical growth maximum. but if i have to hang 18 to 24 then i dont know if my tent is tall enough, i have zero experience growing this stuff, so i dont even know if topping and lst can keep it short enough, im thinking next grow ill have to go smaller with 1 gallon pots maybe. most of the pics of akr im seeing there actually pretty tall. at least they look tall in pics

I don't have any experience with that strain so I can't help you on how tall the plant will likely get. You can top it though and it will stay a little shorter, then you can always super crop the branches if you don't want to do LST and end up getting to tall. You can use one or more horizontal trellis to spread the branches out a little bit, not really a true scrog.

i grew 2 world of seeds akr couple of years ago,very squat christmass tree shape very indica,not much over 2 foot.

edit...or can be pretty lazy and do next to no training,then when its about to hit the light

I don't have any experience with that strain so I can't help you on how tall the plant will likely get. You can top it though and it will stay a little shorter, then you can always super crop the branches if you don't want to do LST and end up getting to tall. What I'm growing​

yeah i think i might have to look at doing something, i cant really afford to buy a whole new grow tent. i tend to be oe of those people that really starts to over think things instead of just going with the flow,lol. at forst i thought 4 foot height would be plenty fora small auto. but i forgot to factor in that i lost about a foot of space just for the pot. so far the plant is looking nice and squat its starting to grow its 3rd set of leaves and the node spacing is super tight right now. i was thinking that i could top it which i was always planning to do just for fun (im not overly concerned with maximum yields since im a very light smoker, an ounce would last me a few months probably). So if i was to top it at 4th node then build a scrog screen and place it one foot above plant do you think that would work? im not sure how tall the budding colas would stretch above the net? im probably looking at about a 1.5 feet of maximum growth height available to me.

OKay i just ran down and took some measurments, so the absolute highest i can hang my light is 6 inches from tent ceiling, my 3 gallon pot actually has a soil height of 6 inches so probably only actually around 2.5 gallons of pot space filled after soil settled. so if duting flower my light needs to be 18 inches from canopy that allows me a total maximum growing height of about 16inches.

will that be a managable height to keep if i top my plant and run a scrog screen at 12 inches above pot? that would allow for about 4 inches of growth above the screen.

I would prefer to just lst rather then use a scrog sice it will be easier for me to maneuver plant around if needed and make watering easier since i can lst to the pot.

hey there, yes thats the exact same seed im growing now. im guessing you let your grow naturally to full height? or did you do any training of any kind. i just took mneasuments and i will only have about 16 inches of maximum plant height available. do you think that is doable for a first time grower if i top plant and lst or scrog it?

I dont suppose you can remember what size pots you ran and what your rough yield was with those akr you grew? ive read its supposed to be very potent and like 22% thc. if thats true then since im a light user a little would go a long way for me.

do you let yours grow that close to light! i keep reading about bad plant bleaching with led if plants are to close?
