New Grower My first grow

My run out PH is 6.0 which means my ph is at 5.5 and has been since Saturday when my problems started.

The PH solution doesn't seem to give accurate readings once the nutrients is added

After reading that last post Jimm, an overwatered plant will look just like an underwatered plant bro. You want to shoot for moist but not saturated, definitely never let your soil dry out. I water almost every day and when they get larger I water every day. I wouldn't suggest that with the container you are using because it will have a tendency to hold more water than an air pot or smart pot but what I am trying to say is you want a happy medium where the soil is moist. Also, letting the soil dry like that is going to send your pH completely out of whack. Buffers, ie lime, calcium, etc, only work when the soil is moist. When the soil is dry they have absolutely no benefit.

Best of luck bro! Don't get frustrated, although I know it can be. Deep breaths bro, it is all a learning experience and we have all gone through it. That doesn't make the pill any easier to swallow but your plant will be fine, guaranteed. Money back guarantee at that!

The BIGGEST mistake a new grower makes is correcting everything they see.

Thanks dude!

I'm trying to step back from the stress and think clearly...

I can now see that the roots have hit the bottom and I also realise that even when really dry the pots have lots of moisture at the bottom (using moisture tester)

Would I be crazy to repot them? it seems these pots are holding water at the bottom

Great news!

Seems that flush may of actually helped because it's beginning to perk up!
It's only the upper leaves but its a start.

:thank:

Sorry bro, I had to walk away for a moment. Work calls every once in a while.

That is a judgement call bro, honestly I wouldn't do it that far in to the grow but that is me. I transplant them all the time early, before flowering, once flowering kicks in I try my best to not disturb them more than absolutely necessary. Maybe you can take something and cut some more drainage holes in the bottom or around the sides at the bottom to help free up some water and allow some oxygen in to them? That would always be a possibility without disturbing the roots much.

Keeping those pots off the floor may help some also, maybe something sitting just under the edges. Honestly though, the plant doesn't look bad at all and I think if you get that slight issue with the containers worked out you will be very happy with the progress she makes. I will tell ya, I have seen a lot of new growers come through and that one is in the top 10% of the best. Most of the time they are on their last leg and still end up with a fair harvest.

Hey A4,

I have lifted them off the ground about 4" so hopefully this will help.
I'm not going to re-pot them as there's just too many roots and the chances of me not damaging them is slight..

I honestly haven't been under this much stress since my child was born.. lol

Thank you for being patient with me!

:thank:

lol, there were more than me bro, I just jumped in with the fire extinguisher. No worries though, we have all been there.

It will get better with every plant. After a few grows you will realize it is damn near impossible to kill one of these plants and won't over react to everything. Like I said the other day, the biggest problems I see with new growers is wanting to fix every little thing ASAP. Sometimes you just have to look at them a while and ask, what the hell do you want from me?!?!?! I sow you, I feed you, I care for you and you still aren't happy! Or maybe that is my wife, hell I get confused in my old age. Actually, come to think of it, it is both of them.

Blue, A4, Duggy-- Thanks guys for grinding this one out!
....Jimm - you too, bud,... the learning curve is steep at first! But, the girls look pretty good after all, and you picked up a load of info here from these folks,... Flushing is like waterboarding the plants, in a way,... it saturates the soil, smothering the roots (poor gas exchange), which makes it a stressor by itself, and so is done only when there's real need,... a trick for faster draining: get a 1/4"+ stack of newspaper with a couple paper towels on top, and rest the pot on this; the capillary action will draw excess water out faster into the paper,...Also, it's generally a good idea to include a mild dose of nutrients and Ca-Mg (will help with buffering too) in the last pour through, since flushing will also strip out what nute's are there,...***.... pH issues can be a pain, and so having the right tools on hand helps greatly in avoiding them, and especially fixing them! A meter for testing solutions/water, a quality soil pH probe like the Accurate 8 (which has a built in moisture meter too! --you got it- often, in plastic pots, the upper portion can dry out way more than the lower, so water carefully with this in mind), and to really complete the package, a TDS or EC meter... This will tell you how hard the water is, and therefore gauge it's pH buffering capacity, and to measure how concentrated your nute' soln.'s are... With BioBizz being rather mild, this isn't as great a concern as it would be for more conc. fert's,.... I highly recommend doing a little self education on what water hardness, alkalinity, pH and buffering capacity mean to get a handle on how they interrelate, exactly what your equipment is measuring, and gain understanding on how to make correction actions,... Have you picked up a couple books yet? Two that will get you started well: Rosenthal's Marijuana Growers' Handbook; Cervante's Marijuana Horticulture...

Day 20,

Pics aren't great again..
