lol, there were more than me bro, I just jumped in with the fire extinguisher. No worries though, we have all been there.
It will get better with every plant. After a few grows you will realize it is damn near impossible to kill one of these plants and won't over react to everything. Like I said the other day, the biggest problems I see with new growers is wanting to fix every little thing ASAP. Sometimes you just have to look at them a while and ask, what the hell do you want from me?!?!?! I sow you, I feed you, I care for you and you still aren't happy! Or maybe that is my wife, hell I get confused in my old age. Actually, come to think of it, it is both of them.
Blue, A4, Duggy-- Thanks guys for grinding this one out!
....Jimm - you too, bud,... the learning curve is steep at first! But, the girls look pretty good after all, and you picked up a load of info here from these folks,... Flushing is like waterboarding the plants, in a way,... it saturates the soil, smothering the roots (poor gas exchange), which makes it a stressor by itself, and so is done only when there's real need,... a trick for faster draining: get a 1/4"+ stack of newspaper with a couple paper towels on top, and rest the pot on this; the capillary action will draw excess water out faster into the paper,...Also, it's generally a good idea to include a mild dose of nutrients and Ca-Mg (will help with buffering too) in the last pour through, since flushing will also strip out what nute's are there,...***.... pH issues can be a pain, and so having the right tools on hand helps greatly in avoiding them, and especially fixing them! A meter for testing solutions/water, a quality soil pH probe like the Accurate 8 (which has a built in moisture meter too! --you got it- often, in plastic pots, the upper portion can dry out way more than the lower, so water carefully with this in mind), and to really complete the package, a TDS or EC meter... This will tell you how hard the water is, and therefore gauge it's pH buffering capacity, and to measure how concentrated your nute' soln.'s are... With BioBizz being rather mild, this isn't as great a concern as it would be for more conc. fert's,.... I highly recommend doing a little self education on what water hardness, alkalinity, pH and buffering capacity mean to get a handle on how they interrelate, exactly what your equipment is measuring, and gain understanding on how to make correction actions,... Have you picked up a couple books yet? Two that will get you started well: Rosenthal's Marijuana Growers' Handbook; Cervante's Marijuana Horticulture...
Was feeling your stress yesterday pal, all looking good again, these guys are top at helping us new growers out, well done guys
:niceshot: :foxy::foxy::foxy::brow:.... looking just damn fine in there Jimm!....I see the first fuzzy crowns forming up,...
Pic's are great, whaddya mean?! LOL! Ditto for the vid',...
...keep feeding grow nute's a bit longer, until their vertical growth slows way down, the start transitioning to bloom nutes,... Ah!- you got gear coming-- shweeeet! I know you're not made of $$, but that Accurate 8 soil pH probe (about $55 USD) is truly essential.. nothing beats an actual in-soil measurement of pH, as opposed to testing run-off, a method that IMO, is full of potential measurement errors,...forgot to toss that out there earlier! :slaps: .... If you have questions about the chemistry basics, we'll be happy to clear the fog :smoke:.... been contemplating making a couple sticky articles on this, to get folks a leg-up on these subjects,...
...Deewd! :roflcry:... some extra grinding stress is worlds better than slack-jawed complacency!! Guess who laughs last and best in the end,...... Hairyman- thanks mate! So many of us came here hat-in-hand for help learning these tricky little devils called auto's, and were warmly and gladly received, making all the difference in the world,.... pay it forward is all that's asked, and if you get good at something, you might get conscripted into official duties like I did!! I'm far from the best growers here, my experience comes from other plants/orchids/nursery work, and for some foolish reason, diagnostics fascinates me...even though it's risky, high pressure (don't want to FUBAR somebody's grow), and often a PITA! :Haha::dunno:
...it's very satisfying to learn how to steer out of a skid, which is going to happen in your grows, period,... helping others learn this skill is-- almost-- as enjoyable!

Hi Jim![]()
Wairas here - so no need to fear! ^_^
Waira mentioned the soil probe - Accurate 8. It's this one
![]()
Muddy and a few others recommend it too - so it must be good!
