New Grower My First AFN Journal ~~Original OG Kush auto in 15 gallon pot~~ Stop in and Say hello!

Guys I've decided if I'm going to learn how to grow autos I'm going to just go ahead and do what feels right for me. To that end I looked long and hard at my quarter pounder auto X Dark Devil auto and thought there are just way too many leaves on here and tucking just doesn't seem to work for me. So I got out the scissors!! And yep I took just a couple inches off the top. The way my mind works the plant has all the light it could possibly want or need. It really doesn't need to produce all that much energy for itself because I feed it 2-3 times a week. So any leaf that was shading and branches are now in this pile. I left a few that may get the chop soon but not tonight.

And here she is after her trim job. I personally think she is looking so much better. Better light penetration, much improved air flow, and the plant still has way more then enough leaves to thrive and flourish.

Looking good. I feel that taking a little at a time is ok. I just did the same thing to mine to open up more light to the bud sites. She bounced right back after a day and looked happier. This is a tough time in the grow. Nothing to do but maintain and try not to screw anything up.

I will try that next grow, i only cut off yellows and leaves laying in the dirt.

I know what you mean. I feel like I need to be doing something. And then I have to remind myself it's a plant. It can pretty much do all this on it's own as long as I feed and water it.

Diary update for today 4/16/21 for the Original OG Kush auto and the QPA X DDA auto.

Getting frustrating to post to my journal with the current state of the site. I suffer from LPT and it makes it tough when I have to sit and wait for the various pages to open and then getting error message I have to click to cancel. So I'll be brief.

Both plants are happy and healthy. The QPA X DDA is showing no signs she is displeased with her defoliation last night.

Good to hear they are doing good and I hear you, it is a little annoying.
Can you explain what LPT is? i searched and nothing but other acronyms comes up.

I've started a new photo period grow this week. The seedling has sprouted and is doing well. I potted it in a 3/4 gallon pot with a clear solo cup over it as a dome. When I checked on it this morning I saw this and had to snap a quick pic.

Diary update for today 4/17/21 for my Original OG Kush auto.

Today she is at day 45 post sprout. I anticipate she will go 70-75 days till I am seeing 25% or more amber trichromes. This morning I gave her what will be her last training session. However she turns out from here is up to the plant and Mother Nature. I've done all I know to do. The final training included a massive hair cut too. She'll have plenty of light and plenty air flow now by golly! She looks brutal right now but I hope she'll look pretty in a couple days.

Diary update for today 4/18/21 for the Original OG Kush auto.

She looks to be rebounding well from her last training session yesterday. I do not feel the heavy defoliation will have any negative effects on her, she has a lot of leaves. One thing I wonder now though is will her branches grow vertical or will they just flower out in the horizontal position as in the photo. Some were already going vertical but those are the secondary branches, the smaller ones. I guess at this point it doesn't matter cause it is what it is.
