Indoor Mixed Indoor Grow.

If you don't mind me asking, around how much did the RO system run you? I ask because I make twice weekly RO runs and it's not doing my back any favors :-) Glad to hear things are turning around for you man, and I dig your ingenuity!

Thanks Medi, and, necessity and curiosity is the mother of invention...lol!

pop: You should definitely see if there's a board of health or something along those lines that can inspect your water for free, and you could always say you were trying to grow basil or something like that, was growing fine and then suddenly died.. Or, you could just go to a store, get any cheap but decent plant, see if your water kills that, and bring that to them saying that's your drinking water source.. I'd hate to bring attention to your grow, but if this water is what you guys consume/bathe in, I'd want to get it checked ASAP!!

Update:

Res Temp: 67, Room temph 74. PH 6.4 pppms: 700.

Plants are doing great since the switch to RO water. For Cal Mag I'm using Grow More Maxi-Cal @ 30 Ml to the 13 gallons of water the res holds. I'll wait before I up that, if no deficiency I'll keep it there. I'm trying to ease the PH down a little each day. Will see if I can take it to 6.1 tomorrow, if so I’ll leave it there until res change next week.
I just got a temperature control unit from ebay, to use as a chiller control, for my upcoming DIY chiller ( got to turn off that damn power hungry airconditioner...lol ). I'll post the enire DIY when its ready to run.

I've taken out the one damaged Chemdoging. The seed has sprouted and I'm waiting for it to get a 1" or longer tap root, then it will spend3-7 days in the clonebox, until its big enough to transfer to the 5" net pot in the res. I shoot for about 11/2" of stem and 2-4" of root, so that the leaves will be near the rim of the net pot, and a little root passes out the bottom of the net pot.

Top left is my Durrty Cheese, below it is Stoned Jack ( which is also growing in the Kratky bucket ), and to the right is Maphisto Chemdoging.

The Stoned Jack in the Kratky bucket is kicking ass! It was started the same time as the one in the DWC res and its three times as big! Starting to think there maybe be something to this method!

It took about 12 hours to make about 20 gallons. Not bad. about a true 40 gallons a day from a 65$ unti! What I did was set a 22 gallon tote in my bath tub. Dropped to output line into the tote, and the waste line into the tub. After I pumped out the res, I flushed the pump and hose with 2 gallons of water with 2 cups of H2O2 in it to sterilize the equipment, then I pumped the RO to the res. NO bucket carrying!

Wow, just that simple huh? I should probably get an RO thingy... Would definitely have one for hydro or kratky. Currently I'm just collecting rainwater but that's of course dependant on rain lol!

Yep, just that simple! Its nothing more than a fancy series of filters. Now if your really need more output, there are higher volume units, and even booster pumps if you don't have good water pressure. Some come with small water storage tanks, usually about 3.5 gallons. I just got the most basic one so as to be able to afford one. Next month, I'll get the fittings and install it permanently under the bathroom sink.
