I find that this process works well.
Only use 91 or above purity ISO.
I first add the cuttings and alcohol to the mason jar, and vigerously shake it for about 10 - 15 mins.
I then take that and pour it through a wire mesh strainer with a relatively tight weave, into an appropriately sized casserole dish, preferably pyrex or clear glass and preferably square.
I set up a coffee filter in a funnel over a mason jar and slowly pour the contents of the casserole dish into it, do not allow it to go higher than the top of the filter. If it does not all fit do it in multiple steps.
When complete there should be a film of yellowish grainules left in the filter, I scrape this with a razor and save it for later.
Pour the remaining contents of the coffee filtered jar into the casserole dish and place near a window, preferably a windy one, and or place a fan blowing over it to aid in evaporation.
When dried scrape with a razor blade and mold to desired shape. I will usually if it is very sticky use the previously obtained granules to make the scrapings less sticky and easier to handle. You can use keefe as well, I have read about using baking soda to do this but I have not tried it myself and do not plan to. Just remember the more you handle it the stickier it gets, so work some in so its not super sticky, then just lightly coat the outside.
Enjoy, Pics to follow.
