thanks for that bailer, i got some last time but i had a little green, i think it was from 2 things, alc draind to slow and i squeesed the filter. Next time i am going to let it alone and i would loe to see the charcoal method.

got to drop a note on this i see that nc420 said to use 70-99% iso....... no no no only use 91% or better anything less then 91% has to much water and will come out green anyway you do it. so bailer cold is the way to go huh??? next time i'll give it a try. i always used the double boiler method and the iso.... but always down to try something new

I was going to touch on the % aswell. I use 99% proof.. If could get 100% i would use that. Every grow shop i have been in has had ISO.. I would avoid going to the drug store. I paid $25 for a 4ltr jug of it.. Which has lasted me 2 years easy.

I have, and still use a double boiler. It's very safe, i also recommend using that method.
The difference with cold extraction are the terps, when you boil it you can evap your terps pretty easy.
Not many people know you are also boiling away your terps with the ISO. The end "strength" of the product is the same, but if you like some flavor to your oil room temp evap is the only way to go.

Walgreens drug store a buck a liter not bad to me.... bailer can your cold way be done with fresh trim or let it all dry out??? And does anyone use males to make iso hash???? Is it ok or you don't get any from males???

It's best to have it dried and cured. The taste of fresh/grass will come through in the end product.

At the end of the day what ever store has the highest % and doesn't hassle you is best. The store near me keeps it behind the counter so i have to bother a pharmacist for it. So that source didn't last long for me.

Plus often i was doing large batches where we needed a few jugs worth. The drug store wasn't about to sell me that much

If I knew that 40% wouldnt work I wouldnt have posted it Dusty Quik...

The only problems ypu have with lower %age is you have to boil longer, The green comes from how long you leave the trim in the iso or squeezing it can bring out chlorophyll as well...

The best iso hash that I got was from a White Widow male plant, I think it produced 7 grams!
