The primary hard drive I use for my games and media is an old USB HDD external drive. Served me well for the past 4'ish some years, but it's just painfully slow (maybe hitting 110-120 mb/sec read/write speeds.) Picked up a WD Blue SN580 NVMe SSD today, 4,150 mb read/write speeds.
