Yesterday I gave my notice, I am retiring at the end of the year. All the signs were there, tons of AARP junk mail, and constant invites to join Dating Sites for seniors. Kind a scary.
Been looking into collecting social security myself.

I can start collecting at 62. If I wait till 65 I get 500 more a month.

The math is that it'll take 12 years, until I'm 77 for that 500 difference to make back the 3 years I wouldn't be collecting.

So, I intend to start collecting as soon as I qualify.

I'm going early at 63 1/2. Will lose $200 a month. Checked on insurance, I can swing it no prob for a 1 1/2 years til I get on Medicare. The big question is always, how long ya going to live.

Unknown, but an extra 2k/month passive income will improve the quality of it.

The gold country here is getting washed down real well. I wish I had someone to go with. Ms. MOG is not into it - at all :haha:
It has been a few years since I have gone prospecting and I drove my old Chevy truck down a wrong turn dirt road that was too steep for 2 wheel drive on the side of a cliff that just ended with a 50 foot drop off into the creek. No place to turn around. I had to open the driver door (in case I had to jump out) rev the engine and dump the clutch in reverse. The back of the truck started jumping around and I that she might be going over the edge when she caught some traction and started up the hill. I was really scared shitless. I thought the truck was going to become a forest ornament that day. That was the same day I got bit by a tick in the middle of my chest and the tiny bit of gold I found was covered in mercury.
Ya didn't really want to but had to do something, can't just sit and stare at the ceiling and tryna not make any noise and wake up my aunt . A little pissed i couldn't get the windows done like i wanted this year. Can really feel the wind blowin through
Just tape sheet plastic over the hole window with light stick tape. Just remind your aunt how much money it will save.

How the hell was it covered in mercury? I used to head up above Atlanta, find a good creek system I wasn't going going to be disturbed, spend Fri afternoon walking the creeks and flagging good spots, go cook some dinner, sleep in the truck. Up early Sat. Coffee, etc. And go prospecting, find a good spot and just dig and classify into my buckets. Every 2 or 3 buckets do another pan or 2 to make sure it was still worth it. By the time I left Sun I had a full truck bed of classified buckets and had fun at home for 6 or 7 months at my leisure sipping a beer or 3.

I was on gaba for while for nerve pain and it was a bitch to get off. Had me all restless and anxious. But if you do need something long term i would def recommend gaba over the opiate route. Its supposed to be better for long term and isnt quite as habit forming and nowhere near as dangerous in terms of overdose. Just my opinions from personal experience. I have all but replaced all pharmaceuticals with cannabis and enjoy my quality of life much more now.Hope youre doing well @PinkyNotTheBrain , hope your feet and knees feel better. Keeping yer footsies elevated when youre resting will help em rest and help circulation, reduce inflammation.
Ya im tryna stay off all of it , i got off the xanax, morphine and gabapentin all at the same time. Withdrawals were bad for a couple days but honestly compared to alcohol withdrawal wasn't sooo bad. Not that I want to do it again
