Up the ppms to around 100.
I have done both, failed at both, and made lots of seeds with both. Usually my diy cs worked a treat, but then one attempt fizzled without a single male flower, convincing me to try STS. I am still working on STS with mixed results. So far, the stuff that I made is too bloody toxic even though I am super careful measuring the ingredients with a calibrated milligram scale. I have had several successful reversals with STS, and when it worked, it made more male flowers and pollen than CS ever did for me. But I have killed at least 5 plants with the stuff, and failed to get useful reversal a couple times. Later in this grow, I may start a bunch of seeds just to test different application techs with a mix diluted to 50% of what is recommended.

Bottom line with STS is do not over apply it. In my first attempt I sprayed the whole plants with the stuff a couple times, exactly as I did with CS, and it killed every one of them, some more slowly than others, but all died before producing flowers. Most users who do this talk about spraying the "nodes" only, but I found that at least with my gear and ability, avoiding getting too much on leaves was hard.

Part of the problem here is that a lot of peeps do not mix their own from dry chemicals, and the exact concentration of the ready made stuff (or how fresh it is) varies, and is unknown. What works for one product may not be appropriate for yours. I can guarantee that STS is far more toxic than CS, but I have not finished figuring out how to handle it with my fresh mixed stuff. Also, I can confirm that fresh is better than long term stored even in a totally dark container and frozen.

Good luck with it, and if you can, start with cheap seeds. :bighug:

I think I've had pretty much flawless results with Twenty20 STS. I followed their timing and steps, but sprayed until I saw swelling as a precursor to producing male parts.
It's about 40 bucks, but it works. I like to do a lot of the stuff myself, but this is just easy!

She's 40, looks 25, athletic, smart, has an accounting job that she does remotely, always positive, likes to travel, cook, affectionate... But she's not a stoner.
It's better when they aren't stoners cause that just means more weed for you!

@Fermented_Fruitz is over there like

@Hotfire are you using BAS living soil? I’m considering trying it on an autopot run since it’s water only. I hear fungus gnats are a problem but they sell some super strength BTI to help with that. Do you have any info or experience with either?

There's not any problem with any soil you get from BAS now. They're adding a bit of ground mustard seed and some other thing I can't remember off the top of the head at the moment to prevent gnats being a problem.

Edit.................in clarification, any Soil that they mix themselves

Is this something you have done with success??
Yes, I was having the same issue. I was far in to the grow but committed to the cause so i up'ed the ppm's. I got flowers but didn't get them to mature in enough time to pollinate.
