Thanks. Im planning on using about 2kw extra next grow so a jump from 3kw to 5kw
I take it thats per month extra? Not sure on your location ( Florida here) but mine moves that much on a month to month basis depending on time of year, monthly rain fall, etc.....last months bill was 186.....due to hot weather, this month 117.....so there can be a big jump or decrease naturally......you would need to scan over a few bills to average out the "normal " consumption.

Thanks billcat, so you think a jump would get flagged? Like if my kws went up in summer or something? What if i was staying below average rate of consumption 1kw per bedroom?

Coming up to winter now with the weather changes, it's not uncommon for electricty bills to rise inline with using blower heaters (high consumption) or even oil filled radiators for supplemental heat.

You can offset some of the extra usage by going around turning off the lights  ... or using CFLs/LEDs instead of incandesent bulbs for household lighting.

:vibe:

not nessasarily, still too little information to go on. You still haven't said what lights, how many, and any other equipt that might be going....don't know your "average" consumption, and I'm only assuming it's monthly as that's how mine work's....and your geographic location plays a part too.....in my location monthly swings are a common occurance so without other factors ( an exhaust vent sticking out a window) just a increase is not a factor in finding a grow anymore.

Im using leds. My draw would be 5kw, a 3kw jump from my average 2kw per month. But i have 5 bedrooms, the average household use is 1kw per bedroom. So what im asking is even if its a big jump from my average rate of consumption would it not get flagged because its about the average house hold use of 1kw per bedroom

Bottom line Darth is there are many tutorials and threads you could read over to find the information your seeking. I would suggest that might be your best bet as every situation is different and we have to make our own choices on things.
