I find them helpful for watering other than that they become a bit hydrophobic between waters. So you either have to keep them damp (I would say coco only) or you have to start watering very slowly as the mat soaks through. Once it's soaked, top watering goes through slowly and even throughout the pot. I use fabric pots so I'm not really sure if they slow down evaporation but they do keep everything tidy up top.

Filters come pre rolled. I buy a jar of 500 off Amazon for pretty cheap.

Yup yup! This weekend is our neighborhood garage sale so moms setting up tent and table in driveway like last year! At least no car loading for this one just drag down the driveway!
