Afternoon everyone!

Quick question. I'm about to transplant my 2 day old seedlings and put them under a 240w led. The light can be dimmed to around 10%. I'm trying to use as little electricity as I can. Can anyone advise on how low I could hang my lights at 10% power?

Cheers

Unfortunatly, many lighting mfg's inflate light output on their items, so the best way to determine light height and intensity is by actual measurement.

I use a free app called Photone.

For seedlings, you want 10-12 DLI if light. make sure to set the app to the correct number of hours.

If the light gives an even pattern, 12-6" away is not unreasonable.

Too much light kills plants fast. Very hard to kill with too little light.

Turn it down where you'd like it, and lower the light until the PPFD is in range.. I adjust mine to 175-220u in seedling stage.

My current seedling light setting with the Mini Sun 2. The light is about 34 inches above the top of the seedling, and she's receiving about 200u.

Yeah what drownomatic said I do the same pretty much except I use this chart for auto’s and photobio par meter.. you can put the light right on top of them if you’d like DLI is what matters
