When I was in high school, I worked at a pretty large motorcycle dealership in the Phoenix area…..one of my jobs was to get the crashed motorcycles off the wrecker, and put them in a warehouse until the insurance company could check them out. A large percentage of these were sport bikes (late 1990’s), crashed into the backs of stopped cars by first time motorcycle owners (many had less than 100 miles)…..the main thing I noticed was that there was always a massive dent in area of the gas tank that cradles your crotch….. :doh: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :pass:
Years back my state did away with helmets, The bikers wanted it too. But I still think it was to save the insurance companies a ton of money, dead people dont cost as much.
The same year they did two laws, no helmet needed on motorcycles, but you have to wear a helmet on a bicycle. Still trying to wrap my head around how that makes sense.

It’s the one thing (well, not the only thing) that sport bike riders did right. The helmet was always part of their culture….cruisers, not so much.
