I have broke main stems and branches and repaired em all with tape no prob! Hearty plants! Only time it got sick was when i tried to be some plant whisperer and listen to internet idiots and used super glue and honey to try and seal it! Shoulda stuck with tape as main stem turned black around that shit and she went sideways quick after that!

I just cut it close to the node the rest was no good. Let it rip. There was no putting her back. Half her was laying in the dirt. But broke my fair share of mains too. Black electrical tape works great.
