No it's not. They purposely hype them up and get cult followings which helps drive up the price. In my humble opinion.

And they are marketing to people that A) probably don't know better and B) have the money in tow that they don't care if they know better or not.

$2 for a glass of orange juice or $100 for the same cup of juice at a resort.

What he does is charge the high price for the 1st clone and then you can get as many as you want for $30 each. And if something happens and you lose your plants you can get more for $30/ea as long as he still has them. So the white truffle is a $250 clone. So it's 250 for 1, or if you want 10 it's like $520
