That looks more like a SOMETHING not a someone!

It Looks like Cat damage to me........the way the compo is scratched out the pot....check the pot for cat poop......they like to bury it in soft soil...

I found I was changing them once a week with heavy use. Needed changed before that honestly

Soak it in Rubbing Alcohol in a sealed container over night. Replace the alcohol in the morning and gently shake it up in the container, take it out and then let it dry. Swab any remaining gunk and dry burn then it should be ready to go again ....
