Sure glad I never went to one of those. Too many people moving around! I'd spend all my time preparing to punch out fools.
Concerts were cool with most people are/were chill.
Pretty sure that crap comes from my military time.
Eating in a restaurant, gotta have my back to the wall and a good view of the room.........gotta see all entrances to the section/building.
Can't tolerate large groups for extended periods of time. Too long of exposure, I start evaluating others as threats and what to do if a threat is perceived.
Had a damn panic attack last year when I went to a gun show with a friend that needed advice. We were there first, but it got PACKED really quick.I might have dealt with it fine, but this was just before everything was shut down because Covid. We were wearing masks, but few others were...............not that masks would do much in that situation. I told my friends to finish things up, I'll be in the truck. Making my way outta the building, the whole damn place was filled with people waiting to go into the sales areas! When I got to the exit, there was a huge line outside. My mind perceived the virus as a threat that I couldn't defend against and that's why I had such a strong response.
Even though my actions are subconscious, I am able to recognize it for what it is, usually instantaneous. Way too many guys can't do that and I'm fortunate to have that ability.
One good thing from canna use, this is not as much in my forethought as it was before and that's a good thing.
