New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

Thanks MOG. Veg interesting. Both you and Med have been a valuable source of information, and critical to this grow of mine.

You both approach things from different perspectives. You are mostly science based. What does the data say? What are the applicable rules and guidelines? And that perspective is valuable for me.

Med approaches more from a observe and feel the plants needs point of view. Know your plants are different than the norm, and adapt accordingly. I appreciate this view as well.

These two disciplines are being morphed in my growing style. Call it a hybrid style. Lol! I want to use science but adapt to my individual plants. I think that is a sweet spot.
Trust the VPD chart. Trust the process and put the plants where they are supposed to be for the stage they are in, easy peasy bro! You got this.
You don't have some weird strain that doesn't adhere the the laws of science, just joking...just keep trying your best to get the environment where it is supposed to be.
Plants will thrive even more when it's perfect, and yes, it is fine to have the plants at say 40% RH in late flower. No matter where you are now. I know your RH was really low get it where it needs to be if you can.

But according to the VPD chart, and the heat I can expect in September, I shouldn’t be anywhere close to 40% at any point during the flowering stage. It will have me trying to gy 65% humidity during late flower. I know that is too high. At some point I have to divert from the chart. The question is when.

I am not growing a plant I am raising a farmer. The reason most indoor growers including myself lower the humidity below 50% in mid to late flower is to lower the chance of bud rot. We error on the side of caution. Knowing when it is time to do that is a matter of experience (the farmer part). Remember these plants have grown all by themselves for 1000s of years. They are adaptable to a point.

Love your girls and they will love you back :growing:

Thanks MOG. There’s an answer that I can act on. Thank you. I will try keep humidity as close to suggested range until buds start to develop further, and get under 50% then.

Got my humidity plan now! Thanks sir!

Honestly, I am now hoping that these plants progress through flowering at the same time, and are ready for late flowering AN overdrive at the same time, not to mention flush. Don't want to think about having to make choices at that time.

Just another reason why I will try to have two of the same strain going on future grows. Right now, the GG is about a week behind the CP from a flowering start standpoint, I am hoping she makes up ground over the next few weeks and they finish together. After all my bad breaks this grow, that would be the fitting reward.

Did a pretty extensive early flower defo on both plants. The CP just needed a few leaves removed, but the GG, well that was another story. It was way too bushy, and blocked the bud sites. I also think it drove up the humidity in my cabinet.

Airflow should be better and the bottom bud sites will be happier. Here is a before and after.

And after...

How are the girls doing bro?

They are growing nicely, Med! the GG4 is vey close to the light now having stretched into it. I was going to raise it up, but don’t really want to do that since it will take the CP further away, since it’s much shorter.

The GG is about 8 inches away at highest stem now. Ppm creeps up to 1500, but the plants seem to not be bothered.

I am enjoying the daily bud changes though. With each day, I earn a little more smoke! Still looks like weeks before they are ready though. Hopefully they finish together for flush!
