New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

I am very familiar with your delima because I have grown different strains in the same res in the past. I don't have a good answer for you and this is one of the reasons I moved away from DWC. The best you can do is favor the better plant and fertigate on her schedule. It is ok however to do a 2 day flush with the Flawless Finish, harvest the early plant (leaving a little bit to keep the roots alive) and go right back to the fertigation of the remaining plant on its schedule.

Interesting. Might be my best option.

1500 PPM is getting on the high side, watch for tip burn and the claw. If they do not finish at the same time harvest the one that is ready leaving a single stem with leaves to keep the roots alive while the other plant finishes off.

Yeah, I know. It started at 1100 last weekend, and has slowly built up even though I have been topping with 300 ppm solution. Am watching closely, and will change the res ahead of weekly schedule at first sign that they are suffering. If they continue to seem to like it, I will just do the same thing. It is still only about 2/3 of the full strength recommended by AN, and they do say it was developed for the exact plants that we grow.

What's up, AFN friends! One thing that I have been watching is the height of my GG4 during the stretch and the proximity to the light. To add challenge to the equation, my CP is about 16 inches shorter than my GG4, which is about 30 inches above the net pot now. As you can see, the tallest stems are now 3 to 4 inches from the light, which makes the CP 20 inches below the light right now.

Though she isn't large at all, the CP is a very interesting plant to me. I like she is structured, and would like to support her to maximize size and density of the flowers. I have read enough to know light intensity plays a huge role in that during flower. As it stands now, the GG4 is taking up 2/3rd of the light, and the rest is at least 20 inches away from the led panel.

I know I can supercrop the GG, and will consider that as a last resort, but I am hopeful that she has basically finished her stretch, and will continue not yo mind the proximity to the LED. I can also raise the led a maximum of three more inches, but don't want to pull further away from the CP if I can avoid. I have supercropped, LST, and defliated, and the plant has the perfect shape and size for my space, especially with a smaller second plant. I would like to let her just develop naturally from here. (If I can)

My solution: I have a single 75 watt Cree cob led on its way. The color is dialed in for flowering. When I receive tomorrow, I will lift the led up 3 inches (the maximum), and focus this light on the CP. I will start out at the same height as the LED panel, and then lower a couple inches per day until I reach a perfect bud developing sweet spot for the CP.

I will provide updates. What do you think of my solution to the lack of light on CP, and GG a bit too close to the light.

Edit: I want to add that the GG has sown no signs of stress with the light. My hand doesn't burn when I do the hand test. The buds closest to it are happy. I do want to raise them the 3 inches, though.

Is the cree cob dimmable? because at 75 watts you need 30" or more from the canopy!

The light says 18-24 inches from plant at full strength, but with the reflector off can be under 12 inches. Will start at 20 at full strength and then either dim, remove reflector, or bring closer to plant. I will just see how much she can handle and wants and give her that. Should be able to control intensity, but wanted to make sure I can give as much as light as she can take too.

What make and model is the light?

Hey, MOG, Here is the link to the cob light kit and to the installed dimmable driver. I am getting it used from a friend who is upgrading his tent and lighting. It only cost me a couple Dutch Passion seeds, and a bottle of scotch. Fair price, especially when I see what they cost new! I think it is perfect for my little CP light dilemma.

dimming down that cob to ~50% makes it very efficient but you still will not want it closer than 24". Good score from your friend. I think these guys may have copied bigsm0's design.

Thanks MOG. I think 24 inches is doable right now, will be close. Will start conservatively and see what she likes from there. If she wants and can handle more, I will lower it and/or increase intensity. It is 3000, so good color for flowering.

I hope the light intensity will make up just a bit for the 12/12 schedule.
