New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

I don't have a watt meter, but The Rapid folks said it's pulling 80 watts from wall.
These number will be closer then:

I tell new DWC growers this all of the time eventually they all install a top-off tank. Your plants will improve with the constant water level in the reservoir.

I am constantly tweaking my grow space and methods.

Yeah, it sounds a bit intimidating as a new grower. You have to learn so much just to keep the plants alive, and now here comes some seemingly complicated separate reservoir top off talk. Went completely over my head. As I became more comfortable with the weekly routine, the concept seemed simpler for some reason. It was always in the back of my mind, apparently, and I am glad it was.

I can see how one improves from grow to grow. My environment, lighting, watering levels, and own understanding will be so much better at the start of the next grow. I am not looking past this grow, though, as I am optimistic that it will turn out to be very good in spite of the challenges.

Having a lot of fun with this!

Day 85 or something.

The plants are loving the new single cob. I have it pointing to the CP, but it really covers much of the GG too. the leaves on the CP have never looked better. I didn't know how much she needed more light until now. I may be seeing things, but buds on both plants seemed to have progressed noticeably in just a day.

It is hard to say whether the cob increased temps in the cabinet, since the heat picked up over the last couple days. It is low nineties, but that's low compared to what it's been over the summer. Humidity hovers in the mid 70's when lights are on and 60's when they are off.. as close as I been to the VPD sweet spot during this grow.

The plants certainly are more photogenic with the cob than they were with the fluorescents. Though it is brighter, I find it softer on the eyes and lens. It is the only light on for the pictures, so you can see how much it really covers.

You just added 80 watts energy to your tent. It will raise the temperature. LEDs are misunderstood - they are not cooler watt for watt with any other type of light. If you put a 600w MH or HPS or LED in an enclosed space after enough time the temperature will be the same in all 3 spaces because all of the energy is eventually dissipated as heat. LEDs are more efficient than other lights. They make more photons in the PAR range per watt than the others. Eventually all of the photons of light will be absorbed by any contact material as heat and that is why the rooms will all be the same temperature. With LEDs you can use fewer watts to get the same PAR as other lights. So a 450w LED = 600w HPS. Now this is where all of the confusion comes in; you can run a light with fewer watts of energy, get the same amount of light and now your tent is cooler but not because LEDs are cooler. You put less watts of energy in that space.

Dude!! :pass: Passing one over to you!! Great job. I told you if you stayed patient and go to hings straightened out, you'd be fine. Plants looking really nice now.

Stems are so beefy because of that warm environment, but they will be able to deliver some serious amount of juice to those bud sites. The fact that your temps should drop a bit over the next month will really help them out at the perfect time. Lights look great. You will get some really nice yield man. Couldn't be much better really after that's start. Way to go!

Sending some rep!:slap:, but yet once again, the site is blocking me from doing so. I.e. I'll come back to you on that:d5:

Thanks. Med! I appreciate the attempted slap, too! I am pretty pleased with where we are now for sure. I think I am going to pull this off, man!

MOG, again, thanks for all the information. the extra heat will come in handy on my next grow when night time temps in the garage could be in the forties for a few nights.
