New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

You have good air movement right? Did I already post this chart for you? Keep it in the golden area until the buds start to fatten up.The last 2 or 3 weeks then reduce to <50% and keep temperatures over 70°F .

Yes, I have that chart but my plants have been outside if that range the entire grow, just in the other direction. Wondering if I should adjust from there current norm and not based on that table.

Ok you should go out and learn about VPD - vapor pressure deficit so you understand how temperature and humidity are affecting the uptake of water and nutrients into the plant. This is a basics type of explanation:

Maybe they should have a lower VPD based on their history. And I should shoot for a lower than targeted humidity. Thinking that flowering should be lower than they handled in veg. What do you think?

Yeah man you’re rocking it :) I’ve used pk on this grow as well - like @jingo said when they start to look like little buttons - hit em up!

My sitter did me right - just updated my diary :)

No I do not see any scientific logic in that line of thinking.

Thanks Nug! Here’s to good plant sitters!

I guess my thought was that since they have adapted and, it would seem, seem done well operating on averaging 20% less humidity than the chart noted in veg, that I may want to use the same variance for flower. If not, my flower humidity would be higher than the plants had during a successful veg. I think these plants may not be the norm as far as VPD is concerned. Based on the chart, they were well out of the range during most of the growth. Would going by the chart now cause me to have too much humidity during flower.

I am worried about humidity increasing so dramatically at a time it should be lowered. Should that not be a concern? Totally newbie question. Thanks for you thoughts.

It is important to be in tune with your plants :zen:. But just because they survived your environment does not mean that they liked it. Trusting the science works well for me.

Trust the VPD chart. Trust the process and put the plants where they are supposed to be for the stage they are in, easy peasy bro! You got this.
You don't have some weird strain that doesn't adhere the the laws of science, just joking...just keep trying your best to get the environment where it is supposed to be.
Plants will thrive even more when it's perfect, and yes, it is fine to have the plants at say 40% RH in late flower. No matter where you are now. I know your RH was really low get it where it needs to be if you can.
