Hi all, I am new to the forum and growing in general. Just ordered and waiting on gorilla 5x5x7 to arrive in the mail. I intend to Set up 15x cxb 3590 running at 50W each.

Now for the fun stuff. I will only be able to eventually grow 4 plants in total at any given time and want to maximize my yield without disrupting grow space. I read really good reviews on autopots and I think my mind is set on getting a 4pot setup. The only question is, would 4pot XL be reasonable or an overkill? The voice inside of me is telling me it will suffice, but I want to hear it from you.. thanks very much and hopefully once set up, will share a journal with you all.

Well I'm running a 4x4x7 tent with a 4 pot 15L Autopot system and 4 Autocobs 3500k. I had a jungle going.

:yeahthat:
Overkill. No need for the XL size pots. I use both the 15 liter and the 8.5 liter autopots and either can fill your space with a little grower’s love.

Two 15 liter pots in a 3x3 tent.

Ok great. I am sold on the 15L. Can you guys help me figure out what nutes/supplements/strains to go with? First timer... not wanting to over complicate things but yet achieve average/acceptable results. Ack the air dome/disk and whatever else peripherals are needed for the setup.

I'm using the airdomes with mine. Some don't use them but I think I've seen some extra growth from having the added air to the root system. With nutrients I used the Hansbrick/Tangs easy feed schedule for my first grow and did good. I'm now trying out the Megacrop which so far has been great, I'll be adding in some of their bloom booster (redline & mother monarch) during flowering.

I have used Technaflora, Advanced Nutrients, and now MegaCrop with good results in the autopots. Personally, I think I will be using MC for the next few grows as it’s much easier to mix versus the multipart solutions you have to mix with the others. If you get over to the Greenleaf Nutrients website, you can get a 230g package of their MegaCrop free except for shipping. That will probably take four girls from seed to harvest and give you a chance to see the product in action with minimal costs.

Did I read that correctly that you are going to be running 15 fifty watt cobs in that space? That’s a lot of light if that’s correct. Depending on what I’m growing/doing I run 4-5 3500k AutoCobs in my tents, pulling about 250 watts at the wall and I still have to watch the distance from the canopy because of light stress.

Good luck with your grow and start yourself a journal here, so we can all follow along and help where we can. Just don’t do like some new growers and start a journal, but as soon as it starts to go wrong they disappear from the site abandoning their grow. I post all my screwups just to get input from others and possibly to help someone avoid what I just did. My main reason for journaling is so I have it all written down somewhere for future reference.

Thank you for the MC free trial heads up. I will certainly go that route when I’m ready and have all my things together.

As for the cree, yes - 15 CXB3590. Five per mean well 240H/1400B totaling max 750. I did a lot of research and asked many ppl and visited many forums til I came to that conclusion. But hey, I might be wrong

As for abandoning, I see what you mean. I think it is important to learn from mistakes and having it captured/documented online is certainly beneficial to other ppl to learn from.

Don’t get me wrong about the lights. It sounds like a great setup and after doing the math 30 cob watts per square foot is pretty nice. Are they on a frame? Would love to see a picture.
