Indoor GreenBean's Grows

Hey! I cheated a bit didn't I? hahaha.

Nice to see you. Sorry to hear things are still tough. At least their last days are as good as possible.

Plant looks good!
You did cheat. But I replied to your email. A tank version is definitely good to go.

As far as the dogs go. Well, as much as I would like to think that we’re cursed. It was just their time and it just happened to play out at a bad time.

Not like there’s a GOOD TIME. Not like I WANT to be cursed.

Just…sometimes…you search for a reason. A reason to make sense of things.

Oh, our gummies have gotten much better! Thanks for all the help with your guide.
Awesome that the guide helped. I’ve been pretty much sober for a good while. Occasional beer, but not much. I get inside my head too often when I’m regularly partaking. Besides work, which is a real struggle in this economy, most of my time is spent in the veggie garden, which is doing really well this year.

Couple notes on this grow...the outdoor grow. In case anyone is interested. And you may have noticed that I like to experiment and let's see what happens...

It's been unseasonably cool here this year. There's been a number of nights this month - we're in JUNE! - that we had to run the heater in the house. Never seen anything like that. Usually it's kinda hot around here about now. So I didn't really expect that. Plus it's been overcast.

The reason I decided to grow Orange Sherbet is because it is supposed to prefer very hot temps. And I did an experiment a few years back outdooors where I was trying to reverse a sherb, and it did well out there.

Anyway, I fed her heavier doses of Floraflex, more like photo strength. And she just eats it as she eats it. And when she looks ready, I give her more. And now she's starting to regularly uptake nutes. So we've gone from...say...her eating a gallon of nutes every 3-4 days, to her eating a gallon every 1-2 days. And she's putting on more growth now.

As mentioned, I had expected her to stay a lot smaller and just go into autflower mode, and flower maybe a couple weeks ago. So I dunno. I've grown plenty of photos outside from seed to harvest. But the auto seems like it's not just going totally auto on me. More like it's waiting for the right moment to go into flower, which is coming soon. Found it interesting.

No topping. Just bent her over recently and used to some lawn staples to hold down the other branches and get everything open to sunlight.

Had some pests in the beginning. But a little soapy water and they kinda left and haven't returned much. I'll give her a spray now and then in case there's something lurking. And I tell you, there are TONS of bugs this years. Including flies. So many fucking flies this year. Those bastards like to lay eggs in your veggie leaves and hatch little baby fly larvae leaf miners. But they're not messing with the Sherb.

Oh and as another experiment, I am not PH'ing at all just to see. I did the very first batch when I fed a little silica, then said fuck it let's see. So my nutes are sitting around 6.4PH. If this one ever finishes in time, I had planned to do another Sherb and PH it to compare PH vs No PH and cooler outdoor temps vs warmer. So we will see if I have time to do that.

That's all I got. Back to work for me!

Day 50 on the orange sherbet outdoor grow. What a difference 5 days makes. Finally showing pre-flower, which still surprises me. But you learn something new everyday. She’s starting to show some stretch and really filling out the pot.

Day 53, and here she goes. Mid 90 degrees Fahrenheit here the last few days. And she’s responded by beginning the stretch. Bear in mind, I pinned her main stem down at close to a 45 degree angle to open the canopy, so she’s much “taller” than she looks.

Still feeding at photo strength and still not doing any PH. Some lower defoliation, but I’m holding off on lollipopping totally until the stretch is over and I switch to B nutes.

Gotta be honest here. I love being outside this time of year futzing with my garden and observing my plants. This makes it even more enjoyable. I know there’s gonna be some pest issues once flower truly gets established. But this is WAY more enjoyable than the tents.

Nice plant! Veggie garden along the wall looks good too. I wish I could try an outdoor grow here but the laws change everyday.

PS - The kid ran a package up here today, looks good, fits great, design was a hit!

Outdoor growing is just a totally different animal. I’m not sure why I never really considered a full outdoor auto grow? Maybe because of the hassles of the photo outdoors grows. I’ve grown some absolute beasts outside. But they always required a ton of work. Tent growing is easy in comparison. Trade-offs are pretty evident though. This time of year I’d much rather be outside. Tend to the tomatoes and tend to the orange sherbet.

Glad that your order arrived. Hope that they serve their purpose. Spread the word! Thanks again!

Day 64 of the outdoor Orange Sherbet grow. 110F today folks! But she’s handling it. Very few issues really. She’s not the largest plant I’ve ever grown, but she’s chonking up very nicely. Smells DANK. Totally different than a tent grow. But I find that to be the case with most outdoor plants. I’m going to assume that the elements kick off some types of responses in the plant. But that’s just a hunch and I’ve never taken time to research that. Just something I notice. I broke out the garden wire to open up the canopy for airflow and such. Fed her some seaweed extract yesterday. I’ve been playing more with seaweed this year in my veggie garden (all organic) to see if it helps with heat tolerance. So I figured why not? Still no PH’ing….

Day 74 and I think I’ve found a new hobby. Dunno if I’ll ever grow an auto indoors again to be honest. Save the electricity for indoor photo grows. She’s doing well. Just gotta select the strain appropriately.
