Indoor GreenBean's Grows

Question for you guys using Rain Science bags. Do they hold up for a long time? Long enough to justify the price? Reason I ask is the bags in the photo above are like dunno $15-20 lets say for a 5 pack? But after about 3-4 runs they're kinda spent. No longer hold their shape and such. I do soak in vinegar then wash. Which gets them clean. They just get misshapen after a couple runs.

Just curious. Not like I'm running out and buying a bunch of Rain bags. But for future reference. Just wondering if a longer lifespan for a bag justifies the price. I hate floppy bags... Or is it a wash in the end? Thanks!
Durability on the rain science bags are top notch. If you want more durable ones they sell the commercial grade ones which are supposed to be meant for continuous use.

Once I'm done growing with mine I empty them out let them dry outside for a day and then smack the dirt out. Then I just wash em with some hot water I'm the sink and they look like new! High recommend them.

Sorry, one and done meaning buy one and you won't have to replace it.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I will def grab a couple when it is time. Not like I need a ton of them now. I don't think I will be using the 4x4 here in this place, so I'm limited to 2 in the 4x2 for a good while.

Any other considerations with them? I'm thinking mainly in watering/fertigating vs standard fabric pots? Do they dry out quicker? I'm still using my DIY coco mix, but I don't have to feed more than 1X a day with my mix. And there is usually one day a week when I can actually not feed at all.

They dry out a tad quicker than fabric but not too bad. During flower in light soil I water every day or so.

Gnome/Mendel BlackStrap Vs Mephisto Mango Smile. Deathmatch pre-flower.
Hey everyone. Long post. Gotta get it in when I can. You know the drill by now. It is my busiest time of the year. Economy and inflation are AWFUL. But it has been busy, though not as busy as usual. And for a small biz like me...gotta really be on point to combat those corporate sloths. So, I've been busy printing and shipping orders as fast as I can.

On top of that, I did a total site overhaul. Shameless plug here -> https://thetshirtwhore.com and if you want something use code FAMILY15 for 15% off of your order. End of shameless plug.

New/second brand and site will launch shortly after the Holidays. That will be all animal related stuff with proceeds going towards random rescues.

On top of THAT, we lost another dog on Thanksgiving day. Otis was 20 years old. We're super bummed. But he lived his best life. One of those cases where he was never sick a day in his life and he just decided it was time to go. I will miss him. Truly an honor to have spent time with him.

Anywho. Grow update.

I've done pretty much everything I can in the past to torture and push my plants. Usually with great results. This grow I decided to take a little more of a hands off approach in ways. No topping. Not a lot of training yet, I just bent the main stem down a little. And not a lot of plucking yet. I removed a few lower leaves that were sitting in the dirt for now. But other than that, not a bunch. A little leaf tucking here and there.

I also cut back a little on my fertigating. I used to obsess over it. Watering my coco every day whether it needed it or not. My coco is always wet. What if I let it dry out a little more? Am I just wasting my time and nutes? Hmmm..

So, I let the plants suck up a little more of what was in the coco, rather than blast them every day. Kind of gauging to see what they would do. And only just now, in the past couple days, have I started feeding nightly after lights on time.

I will do more training/ canopy spreading when we hit full flower. So what is the point?

Well, nothing wrong with hardcore training. Topping, bending. Feeding multiple times a day. Lollipopping. All that. Nothing wrong with it at all.

But is it necessary? Am I wasting time and efforts and nutrients and water? Is there any benefit? We shall see. But so far...I'm sorta seeing the usual results that I expect at this stage.

Both plants are 27 days old now and starting to show preflower points. Both plants look very similar in growth. I'll give Mango Smile the edge - she's on the right. And Blackstrap is catching up - on the left.

Genetics and such...Mango Smile almost seems to be training herself, aside from me bending her main stalk down a little. Blackstrap has more of the indica clump going on. So I expect she will require a little more opening up as we go to even her canopy out.

Once stretch is fully done, I will see what is what. See if removing any lower growth is necessary. Open the canopies up. All of that. But so far it's been a relatively stress free grow that hasn't taken up a huge chunk of my time.

Thanks for reading my novel!

Day 28. And it is now time to start working these girls a bit. Things change quick, and that is what I love about growing = anticipating the next stage of growth and how to handle it in a way that works for you.

A little canopy opening and bending. Even things out a bit. Finally, a little lower leaf plucking, but only whatever was sitting in the dirt (coco).

No deficiencies so far whatsoever. We're ready for the stretch!

Blackstrap left / Mango Smile right.

Very sorry to hear about your dog. 20 years is a darn good run! Hope it was filled with good times together.

Plants are looking well. What are those spreader/tent bars you have? They look like quality pieces. I'll keep your site in mind, although I don't think I'll need much shirts printed in the near future, do let me know when the pet one launches. I might be able to find a reason to spend some coins with you.

Thanks for the kind words on Otis. Yes, 20 years was a heck of a run. An honor to know him. It's hard to say goodbye, but at least this time it was on "reasonable" terms.

TTSW my existing/main site is a little darker. That's the old Punk in me coming out. But it does well enough to keep me alive. The animal site will be a lot more family friendly.

Those bars are the Gorilla Grow Tent High CFM bars. These are the bars for the standard and shorty Gorilla tents. 19mm if I recall? So they may not be applicable to other tent brands. But their lite line bars will fit a number of other tent brands - off the top of my head I know that they fit Vivosun and those types. Their standard tents are fairly expensive, but they are worth the price IMHO. Their Lite Line tents are along the same price as the other tents. But the accessories like the bars and height extensions, etc. are very reasonably priced IMHO.

EDIT - Gorilla Standard/ Shorty tent bars are 19mm. Lite Line are 16mm. So they will work with any tent that has that pole diameter. I have a 4x2 Shorty with included extension it sits a 5'7" which I think is just about perfect for most autos. If I use the extra extension I bought, I can get it up to either 7'7" Or 6' 11". But thats overkill. I also have a Lite Line 4x4 which is not seeing any action as of now. I do not work for GG. I just like the tents. If you can afford the standard/shorty I highly recommend it will last you a SUPER long time and is versatile AF. Lite Line has the same versatility but more along the lines of a Vivo etc as far as durability. I do not know why I am ranting on about Gorilla tents. I'm a little out of it. Long couple of weeks.

I mentioned no deficiencies with this grow. I bought a bag of recharge about a year ago. I dunno why I did, but I did. I mean, I have a lot of homemade compost though I don't like bringing it inside. I guess I bought the recharge just to try. It wasn't necessary or anything in my application. And I have often toyed with organic/non-organic fertigation. Though I don't necessarily consider anything that comes pre-packaged in a plastic bag, and then trucked around the globe as "organic". OMRI-ganic maybe? But you get the point. And I'm veering off topic.

I have found, that without fail, every single time I have used Recharge. Even a little. In a combination with FloraFlex. I get a deficiency/toxicity. Every time. It is 100% repeatable and provable in my case. I have even grown two plants side by side one with a little recharge here and there. And one without any whatsoever. Once again, the plant with Recharge always shows a deficiency to me. It usually presents itself as a mag deficiency too.

I've mentioned this before and people think I am bonkers. Anyone else? Well yeah. I have a friend that I turned onto Floraflex and he insists on using Recharge. He gets the issue. Every time. So...I'm not bashing Recharge. I don't think it necessarily necessary either with a healthy plant. Nor do I think it "hurts" in a lot of cases. But I obviously see issues with it and Floraflex. Just an observation that likely flies in the face of everything stated. YMMV. But yeah, no Recharge at all this round.
