Indoor GreenBean's Grows

Ho ho ho! Day 43 and it’s getting crowded in here. Mango Smile is an absolute beast. Fruits are gonna be huge. Blackstrap is not too shabby either. But I’ve got a feeling that I’m gonna pop another blackstrap right after this one. I could do it better.

Canopy on mango is slowly evening out. Had to tie her back because I’m running out of height and I’m trying to avoid putting the height extension back on. But I will if I must. Still running the 480W Atreum at about 70% power. We’ve got plenty of juice in the tent. Interesting to see how they’re doing without constantly training them.

They can fail for many reasons bro but I agree that they are more than likely the most stabilised drivers these days. Hope you get it straightened out

WHat age were the girls when they went into flower? Mine don’t normally go into flower until around 35 days. Sometimes less though

Just to follow up on the driver thing. Atreum contacted me last night and are sending a replacement 320W driver for the 4x2 setup. So all is good there. I was just a little surprised to see a Mean Well/ HLG driver go bad so soon. But I guess it happens, or can happen, to everyone. Shout out to Atreum for handling it without me having to jump through a million hoops. Love the lights, and their service.

Also, I looked back through my logs and sure enough, I went into flower at day 35. So same thing. I may have in the past kept feeding V nutes for a few days longer. But this grow has been a lot more about me being a bit more "hands off" in earlier stages. Plus, Floraflex B nutes have plenty of N anyway so I started to rethink prolonging the V feeds. Dunno if it's that, or me not fucking with the plants so much in the earlier stages, but I have some really long buds going this grow. Like, dunno if me not starting to lollipop so early, waiting on that, or switching to B nutes with more P and K are giving me these results. But I am thinking it's more about letting the plant sort of do it's thing for a while, then seeing what is what before you fuck with it. Of course, it is all a journey, and every plant has different demands. So observation always reigns supreme. Case in point, I might have established better training, earlier, for Blackstrap? So that is one reason that I am thinking about immediately running her again. I can see where I may have messed up there. Versus Mango Smile which has handled everything in stride.

I heard back from Atreum. They agree that the Meanwell 320W driver is failing and are working on a solution. We shall see what that entails. I would imagine either a driver replacement if they are even available right now. Or...??

I haven't seen too much info in my searches about Meanwells failing. I am a little surprised, especially since it's always been outside the tent. Maybe heat in the summer? Anyone ever had this happen?
My friend had one go down as well. If you ran bulbs you know how the digital ballasts were going out so often dealers had to have extras for exchange. I guess it is just part of the deal.

They told me that they’re back ordered on the driver. Offered me a discount on the new light- the one you have. I told them nope. Source the driver elsewhere, or send me a new light. So we shall see.

Mango Smile is pretty wacky. Thing is a beast. I had stopped weighing yields for awhile. But I think I'll have to weigh this one out after the cure.

Black Strap is interesting too. Really pretty. But she got really woody, really fast. And a little clumpier than I would like.

So that all goes back to me trying to be a little more hands off on this grow and kinda "Let's see what happens", maybe a little too much?

I dunno. There's a fine line there somewhere. And it's not a one size fits all kind of line. Mango Smile didn't/doesn't need too much hands on. But if you're not careful and go totally hands off, you'll run out of vertical space really quick. Which I sorta did, but was able to recover some without a super cropping of the main stem. Almost had to though. Well, I sort of did. But it was an unintentional supercrop. Just kinda happened a little.

Black Strap could do with a lot more hands on to open the canopy wider, sooner. And probably a good lollipopping to boot. Because once those stems and stalks go woody on you, it's set in place like concrete. I'll likely pull her out soon and do a decent defoliation though.

Regardless, all about the experimentation I suppose. Been interesting for me as I find some middle ground.

I said I was going to run Black Strap again right away. And I still might. But I'm thinking I may not. I've got one more auto run after this one. Then I'm going to do a single photo scrog. Then I'm taking summer off.

GB:

This is my Blackstrap at Day 43. I didn't have any (known) stunting. My growth has been steady.

Why causes a short plant like mine? Is it because of my LST style? I topped and then bent of the main stem.

I ask this because I grow small plants (mostly) and sometimes I know it was something I did. I'm trying to work on the things where I don't what causes them.

Do you top or pull your plant down?

Green Thumb Envy : )

It's a Xmas miracle at day 45. Look at them go...

Had to rig up my extra set of High CFM bars to start tamping some stuff down.
