Indoor GreenBean's Grows

That’s correct brother. I did the fridge dry once and it takes ages, and can be a pain. I had the same thing happen to me. Rh and temp are relative to each other, and the buds are wet inside. So as soon as that temperature of the buds go up, more water is evaporated/released from the buds. I used to use brown bags and so on because I always grow multiple autos and never had a good space to hang dry. Once I finished my last auto though I was able to hang dry her in good conditions for a slow ten day dry and won’t go back to other methods now
Yeah I definitely would prefer to hang. 101 F temps suck.

Those finished shots look great Mr.GB!
Thanks! I definitely recommend the strain. It’s one of his normally priced strains. Think it was $55 for a 5 pack and he always includes a free 5 pack of another strain.

I sampled some last night and it got me HAF. Tastes of pineapple cotton candy.

@GreenBean @MrAutoGrower - I have the same issue. I believe if I can dry in my beverage cooler in the 50’s, that will be less of an issue.
Yeah…19 days in the fridge. I forgot to check for a few days. Hygrometers read like 45! I basically freaked, figured Mendel was going to extraction. Buds felt stiff, but very fresh looking like all fridge dried stuff does. All trichomes intact. Basically when you fridge dry, your stuff comes out looking basically like it did going in. I think it makes for a smoother, more flavorful product personally.

Anyway. After I trimmed and tossed in the grove bag it was at 65 RH. I’m figuring F it. That’ll sort itself out.

Then checked this morning and the hygrometer in the grove bag was reading 79 RH. So that’s a wild swing there. Not the end of the world. WAY better than hanging in a 120F Garage and turning it to hay. I just put it back in a new paper bag and have it in the tent for a bit.

So, I do like the fridge dry. A lot. But if you try it, just a heads up. You may want to take the bags out of the fridge after a couple weeks. Let them sit for a few hours, then check the actual RH.

What I do is once the flowers get in the mid 70 range, I put them in WM mason jars with mushroom filter lids & a hygrometer inside. I’ll give them a turn now & again until they get down to 62. A little fine tuning after that & a moisture pack.

I really don't like the bag method and plan on having a dedicated tent with lots of sock holders in different layers like shelves. I will rig rods in so I can hang the sock holders that way 1 strain per sockholder. run an exhaust with a carbon filter. Control the humidity as needed.

I have thought about getting one of those. Here in Southern California in the summer, you can either spend thousands cooling an area to hang the plants to dry normally. Or you can fridge dry. Or bag dry, I guess. I've never done a non-fridge bag dry. At least where I live where it's routinely triple digits from now until like October.

In the fall/winter, you can hang and dry as normal.

Other option is to just not grow in the hot months - June-September. Which I'm sorta leaning towards to be honest. It's not a lot of fun. Plus, we have these electricity usage tiers here, where the more power we use, the higher the cost per kw goes up. I know we're not the only place that has tiered rates like that. It can be an issue when running AC to keep the house reasonably cool.

I sorta obligated myself to do the 2020 Ogreberry and a FB. But I think I might put the 4x4 up in Fall and run it until May and then take it down for summer. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm not a super heavy user. I'm pretty much toasted after a couple puffs, or a gummy bear. I do give a decent amount to friends. I grow to keep challenging myself to see the yields and quality I can get out of autos nowadays. Anything else that may not get used up, goes to the extractor. I've got a shitload of product on hand. So I may start taking the hot months off and just not deal with the stress.

For you guys that need to/ want to keep growing in broiling heat, I do recommend the fridge method. YMMV.

I usaully grow outside the summer, but my yard is to shady now.
I grew this summer because I have been playing with different brands of muted and nee as many runs as I can get. I am using Floranova this round. I underfed a bit in veg but they still are doing good in threes. I was using green gro dried amendments and 2 grows in a row poor yield. The veg was phenomenal but they did not develop big colas or yield.

Yeah, I used to do photos outside in the summer here. An occasional auto. I’d veg in the tent for awhile. Problem with that is I’ve had some photos get close to 12 feet tall. Think I posted a couple photos of them earlier in this thread?

Probably sounds like a good problem. And I live in a legal state. But they literally stink up the neighborhood. So you need to pay attention to nosey neighbors in general. Then about two months from harvest the caterpillar moths start to invade.

Are you only using organic nutes? If you ever try synthetic give Floraflex a go. I really like it for my indoor growing. Outdoors for whatever I grow I mostly grow organic with my own compost etc.Though this year I did mix in a little Dr. Earth in my garden beds since I’m not familiar with the soil here yet.
